UNEXPECTED ENDING MOVIES QUIZ
UNEXPECTED ENDING MOVIES QUIZ
PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS, ANY MOVIE OR ACTOR NAMES OR EVEN A HINT IN A COMMENT, OR YOU WILL RUIN THE QUIZ FOR EVERYONE ELSE. POST THEM IN A PRIVATE NOTE TO ME, BUZZ OF THE ORIENT, AND I WILL REPLY WITH YOUR SCORE AND THE CORRECT ANSWERS.
Don't forget that I am on the other side of the world (of most of you) and I could be asleep when you send your answers, so be patient - I will get to your PN as soon as I can.
PLEASE, PLEASE , READ WHAT IS BELOW FIRST AND FOLLOW THE RULES IN ORDER TO GET FULL MARKS FOR YOUR ANSWERS. IT IS ALWAYS A LITTLE DIFFERENT FROM THE LAST QUIZ.
In this quiz, as usual, besides the two image clues, the third clue is and it is REQUIRED that the movie MUST be a movie on the IMDb list of The Best Unexpected Ending Movies that is linked following this paragraph. I have seen six of the movies on this quiz that I can remember, so, as always, some of the movies can be identified from just the images that often just spell out the title, but some may require you to either have watched the movies or be familiar with them or will require you to do a little research into them because the clues might represent an item, fact, scenario or aspect that will require you to have seen the movie or know the story or what the film is about. However, all you need is the IMDb list to find the answers. I don't think any of the clues are actual screen shots from the movies. I try to use clues that do not make it easy to do a web search, and since this is a test of your knowledge of movies, web searching using web programs that identify movies from the clues is cheating.
The Best Unexpected Ending Movies (IMDb) LINK -> https://www.imdb.com/list/ls062782070/
Note that I never use the same movie more than once in the same quiz, and usually the order of the clues is important
THE RULES
I am being fairly lenient in my scoring, and not overly concerned about spelling mistakes, punctuation, capitalizing or leaving out or adding an extraneous "A" or "The" or obvious typos, but especially if you guess the answer you should check the movie name on the linked list or web to make sure it is the full and correct name. For example, and this will be important for all my quizzes, you will lose a half mark if you make the title one word if it is two, or two words when it is only one because that means to me that you are not sure of the title. Just identifying the images does not necessarily mean that you know the name of the movie . That is only one of the reasons why it is important for you to check your answers with the list to make sure they are correct. As well, if you can convince me that my clues are equally as relevant for or better indicative of a movie other than the one I've chosen, provided it is one of the first 100 movies on the IMDb list linked above, I will accept that alternative as a good answer. In a couple of the recently previous quizzes I did accept alternatives for two of the questions. Please also send only one answer for each question - I cannot score it if you provide more than one movie per question.
A situation came up on a previous quiz where the movie list link I used came up with a different name than the one the participant opened although it was the same link, so if that happens, please tell me. Be careful to use ONLY the list linked above, because there are other similar lists that will not have the same movies.
SPECIAL HINT FOR THOSE WHO BOTHER TO READ WHAT'S ABOVE
Although some of the movies can be identified by just one of the clues, some of the clues can apply to the wrong movie, so it is IMPORTANT to take BOTH clues into consideration.
Please numb er your answers the same as the questions.

Here we go again - another interesting list of movies. A few have been included in previous quizzes, but ones posted long ago. Some of the clues might be a little more challenging, but then I always say that and then almost everybody gets to be in the high score winners' circle. This quiz will be closed and the winners announced on Friday November 10th at 10 p.m. New York City time. So let's see how you do with this one, but remember always...

Studying the clues
Good idea.
Interesting topic! My paper is numbered, and I'm ready to go!
My scorecard is ready as well.
Starting now with a nice chicken dinner, after an afternoon of raking leaves and taking down and cleaning out bird houses.
Answers submitted. Time for dessert.
That was fast and after all that work too!
I still have a few to figure out
Received and scored, thank you. Now you made me think of a dessert I haven't had for so long - strawberry rhubarb pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
You'll figure them out, I'm sure.
I settled for a Klondike bar, lol.
LOL. I prefer my fantasy to your fact.
I thought it was determined more recently that it's better to leave the leaves on the ground because they will dissolve from snow and its melting, and provide the earth with more nutrients for growth. It's also much easier to let nature do the work instead of breaking your back doing it.
I have to rake because they're too thick and will kill the grass underneath by the time spring rolls around. I only do it in places where needed, though. Mostly around the house, certainly not the whole yard.
Okay, as long as you don't pile them up and burn them.
Well, that certainly brings back childhood memories from decades ago! Towns where I lived allowed safely burning leaves in metal containers, and I remember that I loved the smell.
But these days there are concerns about pollution and climate change.
I don't burn leaves, but doing so should be considered carbon neutral because the carbon in them comes from the air, and they return it to the air even when they decompose naturally. It's part of the cycle. They don't increase overall carbon in the surface environment like fossil fuels do. Same with firewood.
Okay, I'll take your word for it.
Answered & submitted
Received & scored. Thank you.
Submitted
Got them and scored them, thanks.
Sent them in
Received and scored. Thanks.
Been through a whole weekend, only 4 have participated, and we're pushed off the Front (Home) Page. Not good news.
Hope this will bring it back to the top of the front page and will be submitting shortly.
We're on the Front (Home) Page now, thanks.
Submitted - fun quiz. Thanks Buzz. Glad I could participate in this one.
Glad you could make it. You're answers were received and are scored.
This is a good quiz, test your movie knowledge
Good advice. I'm already preparing the next quiz and expect that I will post it very soon after I close this one. It's a more interesting topic than even this one.
Wednesday morning bump - come on in, the quiz is fun.
Thanks. We're still on the page with a couple of days left to go.
Just submitted, a day earlier than usual, but work dictates that I won't have much time from here to Friday.
Well work is done for the day and it looks like another bump is needed.
Another bump is always needed - just look at all the important news articles being posted.
Received and scored, with thanks.
Thursday morning bump to stay on the front page. Come on in, the quiz is warm...
Thanks, but unfortunately not enough to do the trick with still a day to go.
Although you can't see this because the quiz is no longer on the Front (Home) Page, today is the last day to submit answers. The quiz will be closed tonight at 10 p.m. New York Daylight Savings Time.
As of last Sunday it is no longer DST, we're back to standard time. Bummer, now when I get out of work its dark. And bump.
I'm retired now, but when I did work fulltime, I never liked this time of year for the simple fact that I drove back and forth in the dark.
Your bump did it ... and maybe another bump from me will push us up more.
I keep seeing mixed messages about that (but maybe I'm just misreading them) so forget it. This quiz is closed in a little less than 4 hours. At that time it will be 10 p.m. New York City time.
His bump was a temporary fix only, as is yours. We can't keep up with the number of articles being posted these days, and with all that is happening, it's understandable.
Mybe some unexpected people will play
LOL. Good one. Although over the last while a couple of unexpected people participated, none have done so on this quiz.
Maybe this BUUUUUUMMMMPPPPPP will help!
I'm afraid it's going to take a lot more help to keep us on the Front (Home) Page. It's a good thing I send out notifications with links to my list.
Morning..can only but try....😁😁
Your wish is my command..
You're welcome..🐨🐨
You may only have tried, but your try succeeded. Thank you. In less than an hour the winners will be announced.
Thank you.
(reverse order???)
No worries... suppose it's not their fault the rest of the mob are always going to be behind time wise...
We have to take pity on them..😁😁
It's always fair weather when fellow Commonwealthers stay together.
Oh Shona, I'm so sorry. I tried to enlarge your post and for some reason it deleted it. Please post it again.
No worries..
It was our flags..

Holy smoke!!! Because it was only 10 a.m. here I accidentally posted the closing comment and the results and answers to the quiz. I realized what I did a few minutes later but now I can no longer accept any answer submissions. However, I don't expect any anyways. I'll be back in around three quarters of an hour to post the closing comment...again.
This quiz is now closed (again). We achieved double-digit participation again, which motivates me to keep them coming regularly. Actually I enjoy creating them anyway. Once again all players are in the winners' circle with high scores. Six players tied for first place with perfect scores of 20 - Dig, Veronica, Split Personality, charger 383, Snuffy and bccrane. Three shared second place with scores of 19 - Vic Eldred, Kathleen and Jasper2529. Perrie took third place with a score of 18.
Eight members voted on the poll, and it was a landslide for keeping the quizzes the same as I've been doing with only one member wanting them to be a little more challenging. The next quiz is almost ready to post so it should be on the Front (Home) Page in a little while.
Here are the answers to the quiz for those to whom an easy fun quiz is too big a challenge:
1. Perfect Stranger - a cat & a (computer) mouse, but a mouse.
2. The Da Vinci Code - The Louvre & The Last Supper painting
3. Solaris - a Psychiatrist & a space station
4. The Departed - a mole & BOSTON Baked Bean candied peanuts
5. The Man From Earth - a man & the planet Earth
6. Gone Baby Gone - 2 detectives & a little girl being kidnapped
7. Buried - a lighter & a cell phone
8. The Abyss - divers & a submerged submarine
9. The Rich Man's Wife - a rich man & a bride
10. The Girl On the Train - a girl & a train (easy one)
11. Columbus Circle - Christopher Columbus & a circle
12. The Skeleton Key - a skeleton & a key (even easier)
13. Red Sparrow - a ballerina & a sparrow
14. Coherence - a dinner party & a comet
15. The Tenant - a apartment in Paris & a rabbit hole
16. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - sunshine & a mind
17. Angel Heart - an angel & a heart (another easy one)
18. The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo - 40 years & a girl getting a tattoo
19. The Fight Club - a fight & a club symbol
20. Runaway Jury - a jury & a gun manufacturer
If anyone wanted to try the quiz for the first time they would be smart to open the linked IMDb movie list on the quiz and study it along with the quiz and the clues in order to learn how I create the clues. Once they figure that out it should be easy for them to have the fun of working through the quiz and achieve a good score. Don't be scared - look at the scores people are getting. It's EASY, and it's FUN.
