ALBERT FINNEY AND/OR HELENA BONHAM CARTER MOVIE QUIZ
ALBERT FINNEY AND/OR HELENA BONHAM CARTER MOVIE QUIZ
PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS, ANY MOVIE OR ACTOR NAMES, MOVIE QUOTES OR EVEN A HINT IN A COMMENT, OR YOU WILL RUIN THE QUIZ FOR EVERYONE ELSE. POST THEM IN A PRIVATE NOTE TO ME, BUZZ OF THE ORIENT, AND I WILL REPLY WITH YOUR SCORE AND THE CORRECT ANSWERS.
Don't forget that I am on the other side of the world (of most of you) and I could be asleep when you send your answers, so be patient - I will get to your PN as soon as I can.
PLEASE, PLEASE , READ WHAT IS BELOW FIRST AND FOLLOW THE RULES IN ORDER TO GET FULL MARKS FOR YOUR ANSWERS. IT IS ALWAYS A LITTLE DIFFERENT FROM THE LAST QUIZ.
Back to the movies of an actor and an actress this time, and as before you didn't have to see the movies because all the answers are either obvious from the clues or they can be found on the linked IMDb movie list below this paragraph. As usual, besides the two image clues, the third clue is and it is REQUIRED that the movie MUST be a movie listed on one of the two linked IMDb movie lists following this paragraph. The list for Albert Finney has 44 of his movies listed and the list for Helena Bonham Carter has 36 movies of hers. I have seen only one of the movies on this quiz that I can remember, so, as always, some of the movies can be identified from just the images that often just spell out the title, and some may require you to do some studying of the linked IMDb movie list to find the answers or it's a mix of both. I don't think any of the clues are actual screen shots from the movies. I try to use clues that do not make it easy to do a web search, and since this is a test of your knowledge of movies, web searching using web programs that identify movies from the clues is cheating.
Albert Finney Movies (IMDb) LINK -> https://www.imdb.com/list/ls043615626/
Helena Bonham Carter Movies I've Seen (IMDb) -> https://www.imdb.com/list/ls066403052/
Note that I never use the same movie more than once in the same quiz, and usually the order of the clues is important
THE RULES
I am being fairly lenient in my scoring, and not overly concerned about spelling mistakes, obvious typos, punctuation, capitalizing or leaving out or adding an extraneous "A" or "The" but especially if you guess the answer you should check the movie name on the linked lists or web to make sure it is the full and correct name . For example, and this will be important for all my quizzes, you will lose a half mark if you make the title one word if it is two, or two words when it is only one because that means to me that you are not sure of the title and you never checked your answer with the list to make sure it is correct. Just identifying the images does not necessarily mean that you know the name of the movie. That is only one of the reasons why it is important for you to check your answers with the lists to make sure they are correct. As well, if you can convince me that my clues are equally as relevant for or better indicative of a movie other than the one I've chosen, provided it is one of the movies on the two IMDb lists linked above , I will accept that alternative as a good answer. In previous quizzes I did accept alternatives for the questions. Please also send only one answer for each question - I cannot score it if you provide more than one movie name per question.
More than once a situation came up on previous quizzes where the movie list link I used came up with a different name than the one the participant opened although it was the same link, so if that happens, and usually it is a foreign movie, please tell me when I score your answers. Be careful to use ONLY the list linked above, because there may be other similar lists that will not have the same movies on them.
SPECIAL HINT FOR THOSE WHO BOTHER TO READ WHAT'S ABOVE
Although some of the movies can be identified by just one of the clues, some of the clues can apply to the wrong movie, so it is IMPORTANT to take BOTH clues into consideration
Please number your answers the same as the questions.

Back to actors/actresses - the movies in which Albert Finney or Helena Bonham Carter acted. Although I've seen quite a few of the movies of both of them I've seen only one that I can remember that I've chosen for this quiz. The level of challenge should be similar to that of the China quiz so give this one a try, but remember, as always...
PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS, ANY MOVIE OR ACTOR NAMES, MOVIE QUOTES OR EVEN A HINT IN A COMMENT OR YOU WILL RUIN THE QUIZ FOR EVERYONE ELSE. POST THEM IN A PRIVATE NOTE TO ME, BUZZ OF THE ORIENT, AND I WILL REPLY WITH YOUR SCORE AND THE CORRECT ANSWERS.
Anyone who is unable to get both numbers 14 and 16 right should give up doing my quizzes. As usual, you will have a week to play - the quiz will be closed on Friday December 15th at around 10 p.m. New York City time.
Looks like a great quiz!!!
Of course it is, and a fun game as well.
Remember to take both clues into consideration. It could be the difference between getting 19 or 20 correct.
It's the biggest cause of a wrong answer.
Figured a few out on first look
That's no surprise to me. A few of the clues virtually shout the name at you.
Will start working on this tomorrow
Lots of time. I've starting to work on the next one already - got the actor and actress names already. Now have to choose the movies from their lists.
Just a quick visit to bump this up since its raining, can't do too much outside. And will look in on Monday.
Your comment is appreciated. Good to see both last quiz and this one sharing the top of the page.
Sorry I missed last week's quiz. I will get to this one tomorrow.
I was sorry you missed it as well - I even pondered sending you a PN to remind you but figured you were busy with your new article besides the usual everyday things.
I'm looking forward to starting this new quiz. Thanks, Buzz!
You're welcome, as always.
Submitted.
First one in and scored. Thanks for playing.
Sunday morning bump to remain on the Front Page
Thanks, we're there now.

Thank you. Got them and scored them.
Submitted!
Received and scored, with thanks.
Good grief! It's Monday afternoon, and I haven't even started!
But ... here's my bummmp for today!
Still 4 days left. Thanks for the bump.
Need to figure out a few more
Lots of time left. I'm already in the process of preparing the next quiz
Are we ever going to have one with (DELETED)?
I saw a very rare movie of his recently. It was a rare gem.
We can discuss this with Private Notes so that we don't break the primary rule of these quizzes, posted BOTH at the top of the quiz and in the first comment. Unfortunately you did that while I was sleeping.
Tuesday morning bump
Thanks, we're still visible.
Wednesday morning and we're off the Front Page. Come on in people, the quiz is fun (and easy)..
No politics in here, just good clean fun. I'll even provide the answer to question #23 to the first ten people who PM me....
well dang, 9 hours since I posted the above and in that time we've been wiped off the Front Page again...
Your post today did the trick, we're baaaaaaak with 2 days still to go and only 4 having participated so far.
Wednesday morning bump to remain on the Front Page. Come on in people, the quiz is fun!!
Good job - we're back on top, sharing it with the Texas abortion matter and a greyed out article.
Submitted and a bump. Have to run business errands tomorrow, so had to rush them through tonight. At least one is questionable.
Received and scored. Thanks.
NOTICE: The quiz closes in less than 12 hours, at 10 p.m. New York time tonight. Only 5 have participated which is quite disappointing. If anyone still intends to play please don't wait until the last minute.
I'll get them in today
I'm going to sleep soon and hope to see your answers when I wake up.
sent them in
Got them and scored them - thanks.
Submitted ... finally!
Yep, got them and scored them finally.
And a Friday bump!
Thanks. We're in the final stretch - a bit more than 2 more hours to closing time.
This quiz is now closed. "Now we are seven." (Chris i.e. Yul Brynner in The Magnificent Seven) We once had 11, then 10, then 9, then 8, and now we are seven. "I have a bad feeling about this." (Indiana Jones) It does not bode well for the continuation of the movie quizzes. However, for this quiz all players are in the Winner's Circle. Sharing First Place with scores of 20, in order of submitting answers, are Dig, Veronica and Snuffy. Tied for Second Place with 19 each are bccrane, charger 383 and Jasper2529, while Third Place is taken by Vic Eldred who scored 18. Congratulations and thanks to all who played.
And for the "chickens" who dare not experience the fun of a quiz which is more of a game than a quiz since nobody has to even see the movies to get a perfect score, here are the answers:
1. Saturday Night and Sunday Morning - factory worker & pregnant woman
2. The Dresser - a dresser & Shakespeare's King Lear
3. Novocaine - a dentist & drugs
4. The Picasso Summer - a Picasso painting & San Francisco
5. Lady Jane - an English queen's crown & 9 days (in July)
6. Dark Shadows - a vampire & shadows
7. Mighty Aphrodite - a genius & a prostitute
8. Looker - 4 models & plastic surgery
9. Ocean's Eight - a billiard 8 ball & the Met Gala
10. Simpatico - a horse race & photos
11. Shoot the Moon - a mother with 4 kids & the moon
12. Washington Square - George Washington & a square
13. Enola Holmes 2 - sparks & a detective
14. Corpse Bride - a corpse & a bride
15. The Young and Prodigious T. S. Spivet - a cowboy & a freight train
16. Gumshoe - gum & a shoe
17. Night Must Fall - a night scene & a fall scene
18. Margaret's Museum - a coal mine & a bagpiper
19. The Wings of the Dove - a poor woman & a dove
20. A Man of No Importance - a bus conductor & Salome
The next quiz, which will soon be posted, will again be the movies of 2 actors: Jodie Foster and/or Paul Giamatti. Jodie Foster once sat next to me at a charity luncheon back in Toronto a few decades ago.
Congratulations everybody, well done.
Good job, everyone! On to the new quiz!
