INTERESTING MOVIES GAME
INTERESTING MOVIES GAME
PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS, ANY MOVIE OR ACTOR NAMES, IMAGES, MOVIE QUOTES OR EVEN A HINT IN A COMMENT, OR YOU WILL RUIN THE GAME FOR EVERYONE ELSE. POST YOUR ANSWERS IN A PRIVATE NOTE TO ME, BUZZ OF THE ORIENT, AND I WILL REPLY WITH YOUR SCORE AND THE CORRECT ANSWERS.
Don't forget that I am on the other side of the world (of most of you) and I could be asleep when you send your answers, so be patient - I will get to your PN as soon as I can.
PLEASE, PLEASE, READ WHAT IS BELOW FIRST AND FOLLOW THE RULES IN ORDER TO GET FULL MARKS FOR YOUR ANSWERS. THIS GAME IS SIMILAR TO THE PREVIOUS GAME.
For the answer to be correct, it is REQUIRED that it MUST be a movie on the linked IMDb movie list 100 INTERESTING MOVIES TO WATCH located just below this paragraph. The visual clues represent a word(s}, scenario or image that may be relevant to the movie title or word(s) relevant to the movie title that can be found in the mini-synopsis of the movie on the linked IMDb list. That means you will not have had to see the movies or even know the stories to identify the movies from the clues, which is why this is a game more like a treasure hunt than a quiz. I have seen only about 6 of the movies on this game that I can remember, and it's possible a few may have already been used in previous quizzes or games, wherein I might have used the same or similar clues for one or two of them as I had before. I don't think any of the clues are actual screen shots from the movies. I try to use clues that do not make it easy to do a web search, and since this is a test of your ability to find the answers, web searching using google or web programs that identify movies from the clues is cheating. The real fun of the game is using the visual clues and mini-synopses required to identify the movies, so IMO if you cheat you are the biggest loser even if you're able to fool the rest of us.
100 INTERESTING MOVIES TO WATCH (IMDb) LINK -> 100 INTERESTING MOVIES TO WATCH (imdb.com)
There may be lists with the same or similar names but with different movies, so IT IS NECESSARY to use ONLY the one that is linked above.
Note that I (almost) never use the same movie more than once in the same game. I said "almost" because I mistakenly actually DID use the same movie twice in the Pirate Movie Game, but caught it and replaced it when I got the first submission.
THE RULES
I am being fairly lenient in my scoring, and not overly concerned about spelling mistakes, obvious typos, punctuation, capitalizing or leaving out or adding an extraneous "A" or "The", but especially if you guess the answer you should check the movie name on the linked lists or web to make sure it is the full and correct name. For example, and this will be important for all my games, you will lose a half mark if you make the title one word if it is two, or two words when it is only one because that means to me that you are not sure of the title and you never checked your answer with the list to make sure it is correct. Just identifying the image does not necessarily mean that you know the name of the movie. That is only one of the reasons why it is important for you to check your answers with the lists to make sure they are correct. I can't believe how many times players do not bother and then lose score. As well, if you can convince me that my clues are equally as relevant for or better indicative of a movie other than the one I've chosen, provided it is one of the movies on the IMDb lists linked above, I will accept that alternative as a good answer. Previously I did accept alternative movies for the questions.
Please also send only one answer for each question - I cannot score it if you provide more than one movie name per question.
A few who played the games when they were quizzes previously had quit because of the rules. But I wish to ask if there is a game that does NOT have rules that must be followed?
A few times now a situation came up previously where the movie list link I used came up with a different name than the one the participant got when they opened that same movie name although it was the same link, so if that happens, and usually it is a foreign movie, please tell me when I score your answers
Please number your answers the same as the questions.

There is reputed to be an ancient Chinese curse (although never proven to be true) that says "May you live in interesting times". Considering what has been happening in America recently that curse may well have been invoked, but unfortunately it has also been applied to the Movie Game that seems to be dying of slowly shrinking interest. So this, what could be the final Movie Game or Quiz, will be about Interesting Movies in keeping with the curse. Since only 4 have played the previous game, it appears that my efforts at creating the game are of less and less interest, but if the participation perks up for this game I will continue creating them. So if it matters at all, please play the game, but remember always:
PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS, ANY MOVIE OR ACTOR NAMES, IMAGES, MOVIE QUOTES OR EVEN A HINT IN A COMMENT HERE, OR YOU WILL RUIN THE GAME FOR EVERYONE ELSE. POST YOUR ANSWERS IN A PRIVATE NOTE TO ME, BUZZ OF THE ORIENT, AND I WILL REPLY WITH YOUR SCORE AND THE CORRECT ANSWERS.
This game will be open for one week, and will be closed on Monday July 29th at about 10 p.m. New York time.
Looks like this will be a lot of fun. Thanks Buzz!
You are aware of that, others are not.
This is a good exercise for your brain and will help keep it it working better.
And it keeps Buzz going strong!
LOL. Thanks, charger 383.
NOTICE TO MY USUAL NOTIFICATION RECIPIENTS
I have sent a notification concerning the results of the Robert Duvall Movie Game and about the posting of this INTERESTING MOVIES GAME to all usual notification recipients. If any did not receive it, please send me a PN.
Looks like fun!
And it WILL be for those who like a little diversion once in a while. However, it might still have its "killer clue" or two.
I've just been told that the New York Times has posted a "Movie Quiz" based on movies adapted from Shakespeare plays. I wonder if whoever did it might have seen my creations on the web. NT has many visitors who do not join NT, but just observe. Proof of that is when the woman Native American photographer saw a collaboration posted by another member (cannot name a member who has not posted on this game article or I'd be ticketed for calling out) and me. She joined NT in order to thank us for the article about her. Look at the bottom of this and any page to see the number of "visitors" we have. I just read that there were 43 who I assume are not NT members who have viewed what we post, but as non-members of NT they cannot post anything.
That has become kind of a legend around here.
NT has certainly come of age if there are now legends attached to it.
Wow, it's Thursday already. Guess I should get started on this game.
And submitted.... hehe
Received and scored with thanks for playing..
It's the beginning of the weekend. Do something different this weekend, have some fun.
The problem with that, Snuffy, is that most of the NT members consider pissing on those whose politics differ to be fun.
I am shocked, shocked that great stupidity is going on here!
Nope-- that (mangled quote) is not from
[✘] Guess again!
Please be more careful, Krishna, you are alluding to a movie quote - read the red and green rule above.
Submitted.
Received and scored, thank you.
Submitted.
Thanks for playing, now scored, thanks.
Still thinking about 2 of them
Only one day left.
Sent them in
Received and scored. Thank you.
Submitted, and a much needed bump.
Received and scored with thanks.
Really humid here today, but not so much as hot. This is the difference between summer and winter, I'm down as much as possible with clothing and still be able to work with a welder, cutting torches, and machinery throwing hot metal chips and its miserable.
Summer used to be what everyone was looking forward to, now things have changed, haven't they. If schools were all airconditioned, it would be "cool" if they changed the time of long vacation. I would make long vacation to be the fall (Autumn to some of us) - a time when nature shows us how beautiful it can be (at least where I come from).
To the top of the front!
At least it's not to the back of the front, that would be a really rough day...
A really rough day when it's nowhere in sight.
Well, at this point 7 have played, 90 minutes to closing,
Yes sir, thank you, sir!!!
This game is now closed. Again, "Now we are seven" (as spoken by Chris i.e Yul Brynner in the original The Magnificent Seven), a big improvement over only 4. Six players out of the seven made it to the Winners' Circle, although nobody got a perfect 20 score. Obviously this game was more challenging then others previously, but isn't that better? Some of the clues were a little misleading, but the most important aspect of them was still the guide to the correct answer, and nobody tried to convince me otherwise.
In first place is Snuffy, with a score of 19, while second place is a tie between Dig and bccrane who scored 18. Third place with 17 was taken by Perrie, and Honourable Mention is shared by Vic Eldred and charger 383 with scores of 15. The seventh player did not make it to the Winners' Circle. Thanks to all who played, and congratulations to all the winners.
Here are the answers and the clues:
I will not be posting a new game for a little while. I intend to spend a lot less time on the computer to watch more movies and the Olympics. I'm not as interested as most in what is most important to most here - American politics.
Thanks Buzz, it was a fun game. Congrats to everybody who played, we all had fun.
See you all in the next game when it comes out.
Notwithstanding the competition from the chaos of American politics and the Olympics, the next game will be posted this coming Friday evening.
