GENE HACKMAN MOVIE GAME
GENE HACKMAN MOVIE GAME
PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS, ANY MOVIE OR ACTOR NAMES, IMAGES, MOVIE QUOTES OR EVEN A HINT IN A COMMENT, OR YOU WILL RUIN THE GAME FOR EVERYONE ELSE. POST YOUR ANSWERS IN A PRIVATE NOTE TO ME, BUZZ OF THE ORIENT, AND I WILL REPLY WITH YOUR SCORE AND THE CORRECT ANSWERS.
Don't forget that I am on the other side of the world (of most of you) and I could be asleep when you send your answers, so be patient - I will get to your PN as soon as I can.
PLEASE, PLEASE, READ WHAT IS BELOW FIRST AND FOLLOW THE RULES IN ORDER TO GET FULL MARKS FOR YOUR ANSWERS. THIS GAME IS SIMILAR TO THE PREVIOUS GAME, NOT THE QUIZ.
For the answer to be correct, it is REQUIRED that it MUST be a movie on the linked IMDb movie list Gene Hackman Filmography (a lst of 77 movies) located just below this paragraph. The visual clues represent a word(s}, scenario or image that may be relevant to the movie title or word(s) relevant to the movie plot or title that can be found in the mini-synopsis of the movie on the linked IMDb list or in some cases what the image is could be the movie title. That means that for all the questions you will not have had to see the movies or even know the stories to identify the movies from the clues, which is why this is a game more like a treasure hunt than a quiz. I have seen at least 20 of his movies, but only 7 of the movies on this game, and I know I’ve used some of them in previous quizzes or games, wherein I might have used the same or similar clues for some as I had before. I don't think any of the clues are actual screen shots from the movies. I try to use clues that do not make it easy to do a web search, and since this is a test of your ability to find the answers, web searching using google or web programs that identify movies from the clues is cheating. The real fun of the game is using the visual clues and mini-synopses required to identify the movies – the challenge is what makes it a worthwhile task.

There may be lists with the same or similar names but with different movies or sources so IT IS NECESSARY to use ONLY the one that is linked above.
Note that I (almost) never use the same movie more than once in the same game. I said "almost" because I mistakenly actually DID use the same movie twice in the Pirate Movie Game, but caught it and replaced it when I got the first submission.
THE RULES
I am being fairly lenient in my scoring, and not overly concerned about spelling mistakes, obvious typos, punctuation, capitalizing or leaving out or adding an extraneous "A" or "The", but especially if you guess the answer you should check the movie name on the linked lists or web to make sure it is the full and correct name. For example, and this will be important for all my games, you will lose a half mark if you make the title one word if it is two, or two words when it is only one because that means to me that you are not sure of the title and you never checked your answer with the list to make sure it is correct. Just identifying the image does not necessarily mean that you know the name of the movie. That is only one of the reasons why it is important for you to check your answers with the lists to make sure they are correct. I can't believe how many times players do not bother and then lose score. As well, if you can convince me that my clues are equally as relevant for or better indicative of a movie other than the one I've chosen, provided it is one of the movies on the IMDb list linked above, I will accept that alternative as a good answer. Previously I did accept alternative movies for the questions.
Please also send only one answer for each question - I cannot score it if you provide more than one movie name per question.
A few who played the games when they were quizzes previously had quit because of the rules. But I wish to ask if there is a game that does NOT have rules that must be followed?
A few times now a situation came up previously where the movie list link I used came up with a different name than the one the participant got when they opened that same movie name although it was the same link, so if that happens, and usually it is a foreign movie, please tell me when I score your answers
Please number your answers the same as the questions.

In memory of and to honour Gene Hackman, the return of the Movie Game. Let’s all show our last respects to a great actor, by playing the game. You do not have to have seen any movies whatesoever to get a perfect score – you will realize the answers in many cases just by looking at the clue, or you will find that the clue refers to something in the movie descriptions on the linked IMDb filmography list. Read the game instructions and rules to make sure you get it right, but it is very important that, as always....
PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS, ANY MOVIE OR ACTOR NAMES, IMAGES, MOVIE QUOTES OR EVEN A HINT IN A COMMENT HERE OR YOU WILL RUIN THE GAME FOR EVERYONE ELSE. POST YOUR ANSWERS IN A PRIVATE NOTE TO ME, BUZZ OF THE ORIENT, AND I WILL REPLY WITH YOUR SCORE AND THE CORRECT ANSWERS.
This game will be closed and the winner’s circle announced Monday March 10th at 10 p.m. New York time. You have more than a week, including two full weekends to complete the game and PN me your answers.
Bookmarked to my feed, will start after today's chores.
Thank you for telling me.
And submitted. Thanks for the fun game!!
Received and scored, with thanks.
IMPORTANT NOTICE - CHANGE OF CLUE
I have changed the clue for question number 6 to prevent confusion.
This game is a fitting tribute to a great actor
Right on, charger.
I will do it sometime between now and the end of the game
Good, thanks, lots of time. Missed you on the recent quiz.
Got most of them figured out
Good.
Gonna start working on this one.
And you finished it as well.
Answered & submitted
Received and scored. Thank you.
Play the movie game
see if you can get the Name
and this little rhyme
didn't cost Buzz a dime
Thanks to players of the game
Like you and those I need not name
A break from news that's bad to see
Is fun and challenge for you and me.
I'm getting nowhere on about 5 of these. They're supposed to be solvable from the titles or descriptions, right?
To play the game, the first thing you do is identify what the clue is, and that may well be the answer. but If that doesn't provide the answer you determine what the clue could represent, or says, and then look for that in the linked movies mini-synopses to see if any of the words therein tie in with what the clue represents. From that point on it is just using common sense, and finally, not to leave a blank answer which cannot possibly get a point, but guess because who knows, maybe it would be a good guess. It is always possible, of course, that you might have seen the movie that the clue is for in which case it is just a matter of memory of important details. I do use details, but only important ones that should be memorable.
By the way with only 2 players having submitted their answers so far, only two of the questions have not been correctly answered.
A correction, Dig. I have just received answers from 2 more participants, and I can now say that EACH question has been answered correctly by one participant or another (although nobody has achieved a perfect score), so therefore there are NO questions that are impossible to answer.
Okay, I've submitted my answers, with some that I don't feel very good about at all, lol.
*fingers crossed*
Got them and scored them - thank you.,
Or as I did so far, input the same answer to 3 different ones, erase two of them, then put two answers on one line and flip a coin.
Also, this needs to get back near the top.
You have a unique method of guessing.
Well I still have a couple more to figure out plus the coin toss. The coin toss, however, may not be needed as I am now leaning heavily on just the one with the nature of the clue given.
And back to the top you go.
Thanks for the push, bc.
Your "Timex method" just made me burst out laughing.
The really sad thing is that using that method, I received a line number to sew on E-5. Oh boy...
I don't understand - line number? E-5?.
A line number was a ranking number for promotion. It's a position and time thing, had I stayed in another four months I would have been eligible to sew on the new rank for promotion. E-5 is a Staff Sgt in the Air Force, enlisted rank where E-1 is a newby just enlisted and E-9 is the top enlisted rank. Hope that explains it all.
In high school there was a mandatory math test which juniors and seniors took, one hundred questions, multiple choice A,B,C, or D. Fifty-one correct got you to the next state competition. My junior year I scored in the high forties, two seniors scored fifty-one. My senior year I scored fifty and no one higher. But get this, I was informed that one junior scored zero, that's impossible, I asked if they actually answered the questions and yes they did, the thing about the test was that you could've answered the same letter all the way down and still scored twenty-five without even reading the question or knowing the answers.
Oh and back to the top.
Okay, now I understand.
I was always pretty good with math, but when I got to university I scored the historically lowest mark in Calculus that the university ever recorded.
Sent them in
Received and scored. Thanks.
Five players have participated so far and there is still a week left to play. This game will not be closed until Monday March 17th at about 10 p.m. New York Time. Hoping for more players who could use a break from the same old same old - players who want to have a little fun. Everyone who plays tells me they had fun doing it.
Might get what I got tomorrow morning.
And back to the top, maybe.
Didn't quite make it there, so trying again.
Being on top is best, but just showing up on the page is what's important.
And here's to continuing to show up on the front page.
We\re still hangin' in there.
Waiting patiently.
Submitted, and I found another one that a coin toss was needed.
Received and scored with thanks. A coin toss is much better than leaving a blank or just a question mark.
This has been the most disappointing response to a movie game or quiz that I can remember, so I guess it's time to focus on other areas of interest. Today is the last day for participating, ending at 10 p.m. tonight New York time.
So, it may make it worth while to bring this back up.
Wow, that was some push - it's right on top at this moment.
This game is now closed. Happily, the game had 8 players, which was my minimum goal, so I will continue to post them from time to time. Because the games do not require a player to have seen even one movie in their life to still get a perfect score, I'm quite disappointed that notwithstanding NT having as many active members that it has, that so few are at all interested in a very minor challenge that all who play consider to be a welcome distraction from the usual fare and in fact a lot of fun. So be it, there are those who are quite capable of doing well, but also those of lesser intellectal ability will continue to revel in their insulting, demeaning, harrassing and taunting other members about divisive political now empirical politics.
The winners' circle is as follows: Nobody succeeded in getting a perfect score but 3 members, charger 383, Snuffy and Dig, shared First Place with scores of 19, while both Veronica and bccrane each achieved a score of 18 to be in Second Place. Kathleen came in third with a score of 17 and Honourable Mention goes to Vic Eldred with a score of 16. Thanks to all who played.
For those who care to see how easy it is to have a little fun, here are the answers, along with the clue descriptions:

Will you stop insulting everyone?
What is your basis for saying that people who are concerned with the current state of affairs in America are of lesser intellectual ability?
I played the game , but found the geography one more enjoyable. I dont enjoy having to read 75 movie summaries on IMDB in order to get a decent score.
I did NOT insult "EVERYONE". I only insulted those who continue to demean, insult, harrass and taunt others. And you played, so obviously I didn't mean you.
