Damned Tough Movie Quiz
Damned Tough Movie Quiz
Although I posted this on the Everyone Loves Movies group, only a few members took a shot at it. It's hard, and even committed movie-goers couldn't answer more than 5 or 6 of these questions. As it is the last really hard quiz I will post, I thought I would see if there are any other movie mavens who will give it a shot.
This quiz will separate the true movie aficionados from the run-of-the-mill weekend movie watchers. As before, UNLESS YOU CAN SEND ME A PRIVATE NOTE WITH YOUR ANSWERS, PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS UNTIL THURSDAY, AND I WILL POST THE ANSWERS ON FRIDAY. I don't think this quiz will have ambiguous possibilities, as the image quiz did. So if you are a true movie aficionado, give this quiz a try. I realize that it is detail-oriented, but if you have seen the movies, you at least have a chance.

This is the last time I will post a really tough movie quiz, so give it a try anyways.
Debating whether I should give it a go...... I didn't do to well on the last one......
What? 19/20 isn't good enough?
I'll probably give it a shot, but really? pitching soap flakes? (I guess that is classic in a sense)
I don't think they knew she wasn't 99+44/100% pure.
Just in case there are some movie lovers out there who were not members of the Everyone Loves Movies group, here's your chance to see if you can get more than 6 of these right and be the new champion.
I think I got 2 right
1) No idea.
2) No idea.
3) Not sure what the make and model was, but it was small, if I am not mistaken.
4) No idea.
5) I have seen the movie but it was a long time ago.
6) Montana. (You can travel state to state, no papers?) Love that movie.
7) No idea.
8) No idea.
9) I want to say he bowled a 300 game, but i'm probably thinking of another movie.
10) Marilyn Chambers?
11) He attacks the "bad guys"? I know that's vague...
12) Great movie, but I can't remember.
13) Ice-Skate.
14) Not sure.
15) Bar?
16) I haven't seen this movie.
17) Fishing or golf.
18) Brad Pitt?
19) Haven't seen it.
20) Haven't seen it.
I only got 4 so it's not worth me sending it to you, LOL!
So far the best was 6 right, and probably only Nowhere Man can do better than that. As I said - it's a really tough one, and the last I will do that is such a challenge. John already proved to me that I couldn't answer a quiz like that.
I try even if I get 0. I actually got Buzz to change an answer on one of his movie quizzes
Trout is right. I was wrong myself with the accomplishment of Marge's husband in Fargo, and she corrected me. Not only that, Iceman just asked me what was the name of the town in High Noon, and I have no idea what it is. I don't think I could get a decent score if someone else were to create a movie quiz. The ones who try these quizzes think they are fun, and they ARE fun, and it doesn't matter if any of us, including me, doesn't get a passing score.
Hadleyville, New Mexico, and of course in the movie timeline that would be a territory, not a state.
A town full of wimps (including the deputy Marshall) who didn't deserve Will Kane to be their Marshall.
I enjoy these quizzes even if I don't get a single answer right.
I actually know one of them.
#7
Many people would know the answer to that even if they didn't see the movie.
Yes, well, that is true.
I did watch the movie. But, you know what, I think I recall they didn't actually do it correctly in the movie. If my memory is correct, I may get details of the movies portrayal wrong.
When it comes to movie quizzes … like Schultz in Hogans Heroes …
LOL I'm just as lost when it comes to your technical explanations in photography.
from what I've seen in your pics, you are not lost in technique, and that is the important part....
Well I sent Buzz my list, and I'm sad to say that his last one I didn't have an answer for.....
And I think I found another question, that had a different answer than the one he was thinking of......
So I wasn't perfect......
I'll post my answers when he confirms it is over.....
I'm not beyond making mistakes. The answers will be posted tomorrow.
Neither am I brother, neither am I...
It was a good challenge though, a lot of small details.
Is it ok if I post mine now?
No. Wait until I post my answers - yours are even more detailed than mine so it's better if they follow mine. I have seen yours and will vouch that you had already sent them to me previously.
ok,
18 of 20. I didn't count # 19...... (but I did get it right)
Okay it's Friday, so here are the answers:
15, Walt's barber
16. It was stewed.
17. golf
18. Reuben Tishkoff (Elliott Gould) - either screen or actual name is correct.
19. Lord Essex (Colin Firth) - either screen or actual name is correct.
20. The "mazuza" (small case holding a prayer scroll that is normally attached by Jews to their home door post) was tilted in the wrong direction. It is properly tilted towards the house, but in the movie it was tilted outwards.

2. Puts the murderer at the Scene of the crime

5. Five times....
6. Montana.....

8. Clicked the TV remote three times trying to change the channel....
9. Got his Mallard artwork selected for issuance on a 3 cent stamp...
10. Marilyn Chambers, she was the "Ivory Soap girl" on the Ivory Snow soap flake box
11. He life melds with Torak and becomes the Rider of the Last Shadow
12. White Red-necked Police Officer
13. Ice Skates...

17. Golf, (although they weren't heading off to R&R, they were heading off to do emergency surgery to a wounded congressman's son)
18. Reuben
19. The Queens Courtesans and lords in waiting... This is the one I"m not counting as a correct answer, Buzz was aiming as Colin Firth as the answer but he doesn't appear in the scene of the puddle walking.... So My answer is correct in as far as it went, and Buzz at a very late point in the contest had to change the question.... Sorry my friend...
20. I haven't a clue..... Unless your Jewish and have specific knowledge of the Jewish religious practices no one would know the answer to this one...
Also I hate to say it here, but until the political celebratory hate fervor dies down, this will probably be my last posting for a while......
Sorry my friends....
Those were the answers that NWM provided to me previously.
Bruce Greenwood's movie wife bid $10,000, not $10,500, followed by her walking up on the stage and saying "Hello Nick".
It will be a long time before I do another quiz with verbal questions. I may do another images one.
Before you disappear, perhaps you can post the following movies that appear to be somewhat topical these days:
Exodus
Gentleman's Agreement
QBVII
Schindler's List
I'll take care of it brother...
I'll throw in Raid on Entebbe for ya also....
Thanks, NWM. Although I've seen the others more recently, I have not seen Raid on Entebbe for many years. Wait and I will do an article on those movies and include Judgment at Nurenberg and some more recent Holocaust movies as well, such as Life is Beautiful, The Boy in Striped Pajamas, etc. Was there a movie about finding Adolph Eichmann and bringing him to justice?
The title of the article will be "Antisemitism - the Path to the Holocaust"
Actually there were several....
Don't know if I can get them all, why don't you tell me the one you want and I'll see what I can do....
Forget it, NWM. I just did a search and there are over 600 movies listed under antisemitism and over 1000 about The Holocaust, so I won't even TRY to choose. I just think that to make my point about Israel the movie Exodus is enough, and to make my point about latent antisemitism Gentleman's Agreement is enough. As far as The Holocaust goes, Schindler's List is the best. I might do an article about just those 3 movies in order to illustrate those 3 topics.
The theme being - Antisemitism leads to The Holocaust leads to the need for Israel.
There may be a lot but you could just focus on a few movies.
Happy Hanukah!
Hey Brother, I have the five already promised, Just finishing them up for upload.
I'll add to that Judgment at Nuremberg & The Boy in Striped Pyjamas.
That makes seven.....
Will let you know when they are ready to post....
Okay, good, then I'll put together an article that includes those seven movies. Sounds good.
Well, good. Now I know what to watch on Netflix and Amazon this week
good luck with that......
Several of them are made for TV movies from the 60's and 70's, and I can't find them on Netflix nor Amazon...... (unless you want to buy the DVD)
Hey my friend,
Let me know when you're ready to post the seven movies - the article is almost completed, and it refers to those seven movies - each one shows a screenshot. The article contains a notice that you will be posting those movies.
Already responded specifically on where I'm at Brother in PM.....
Will let you know...
Okay, seen your PN, we're up to date.
I have seen "The Eichmann Show" and "The Boy in the Stryped Pajamas" on either my cable or sling tv service.
Well I"m not doing the Eichmann Show, and Pajamas is a fairly recent movie (2008) so I suspect it is still available, Schindler's List is also probably still available.
Gentleman's Agreement is available is you know where to look, Exodus isn't available online neither is Judgment at Nuremberg, QB VII, (a three part British Mini-series broadcast over two days) and Raid on Entebbe (the original 1976 version) Everyone remembers it but it's never broadcast. It is available on DVD, if you can find it....
