The Return of the Movie Quiz
PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS IN A COMMENT, OR YOU WILL RUIN THE QUIZ FOR EVERYONE ELSE. POST THEM IN A PRIVATE NOTE TO ME, BUZZ OF THE ORIENT, AND I WILL REPLY WITH YOUR SCORE AND THE CORRECT ANSWERS.
Sorry to have to repeat that and make it ultra-clear but no matter how many times I've tried to stop anyone from posting their answers in a comment so everyone else can see them, someone invariably does it. Please remember that I am on the other side of the world (of most of you) so I could be asleep when you send your answers, so be patient - I will get to your PN as soon as I can.
Now that we've made that clear, here are the questions. Either actual names of actors, or their screen names in the movies are acceptable. There are some hard questions and some easy ones, and most of the questions are drawn from movies released during the last 20 years, and as well most are from fairly popular movies. These are supposed to be a test of your memory of the movies, and using an internet site to find your answers is cheating, and no test of your movie knowledge. Please number your answers with the same numbers as the questions. Now, give it a try......
1. What stopped the car in the movie Vanishing Point?
2. What were the trucks carrying through the mountains in the movie The Wages of Fear?
3. What Indian weapon did Mel Gibson use in the movie The Patriot?

5. Who did Major Strasse say he had a dossier on in the movie Casablanca?
6. Who was the artist who painted the picture Ben Affleck gave to Anna Kendrick in the movie The Accountant?
7. In the movie Field of Dreams, what words from the movie The Wizard of Oz did a baseball player say when going back into the corn field?
8. In the movie Shawshank Redemption, in his letter to Morgan Freeman, what did Tim Robbins say was waiting?
9. What was the contest prize won by Erroll Flynn in the movie The Adventures of Robin Hood?
10. At the end of the movie Star Wars, Episode VII - The Force Awakens what was offered to Luke Skywalker?
11. Who was the ghost in the movie Interstellar?
12. What is the similarity between the movies Groundhog Day and Edge of Tomorrow?

14. In the movie Argo, what airspace did they enter when they finally began to feel safe?

done!
Don't be scared. The quiz is fun, and not so hard. There have already been scores of 60% and 70%. Surely people in lockdown are watching more movies.
Apparently I don't watch enough movies....lol
You're not gonna post our individual scores are ya, Buzz?
Of course not - maybe just the top score, the winner.
Whew!!!!
I was having flashbacks to my college days....
An interesting bit of trivia I didn't know until I just yesterday read the IMDb summary of The Pursuit of Happyness. The movie is actually based on the true story of a man named Chris Gardner, and Will uses that real name in the movie - a man who had been through the sad tribulations the movie depicted, and eventually became extremely successful. At the end of the movie, Will is walking with his son Jaden (yes, his real son) and Jaden is telling him a "knock knock" joke, and a well dressed man walks past them. That man was the REAL Chris Gardner. Now I want to watch that movie again to see that.
Zip to the end of this videoclip to see the real Chris Gardner walking past Will Smith and his son Jaden, and Will looks back at him. The real Chris Gardner, about whom this movie was made, started struggled with a thankless sales job, becane a broke homeless person, and ended up a multi-millionaire.
There 7 I am sure of, and about another 5 i guessed at.
While I dont think many people will get a high score, this quiz was better than some of your others because the answers are not quite as obscure.
I can honestly say I know only two of these. The LOTRs and Gran Torino.
The rest I can only say, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know....
That's because you don't watch many movies. Have you watched the other movies in the quiz? If you have, when I send you the answers I'm sure you'll say to yourself - "Oh, I KNEW that!" Send me the two you know in a Private Note.
Well you are correct. I haven't seen most of them. I don't really watch a lot of movies. I probably see more independent and/or foreign films than regular mainstream.
Did watch a French film last night.
Take that back. I did see Groundhog Day and Pretty Woman. Couldn't answer the questions though. Saw them on tv.
Edit: I am a fan of a lot of the old movies. ie, Philadelphia Story was one of my favorites.
Arsenic And Old Lace was hilarious.

As I expected, the winner was Nowhere Man, who has not been around for quite a while and says "Hi" to all of us here. He got 19 right, missing only number 14. That was no surprise to me as he has more movie knowledge than anyone I know. Second best was snuffy with 14 right out of 20 on a first quiz attempt, and third prize goes to Kathleen and her husband with 12 correct. I'm happy about everyone who tried, because it has now made it worthwhile to continue the quizzes, thanks to all who gave it a shot, even if I had to prod them to do it.
