A Different Kind of Movie Quiz - Name the Movie From the Symbols

PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS IN A COMMENT, OR YOU WILL RUIN THE QUIZ FOR EVERYONE ELSE.   POST THEM IN A PRIVATE NOTE TO ME, BUZZ OF THE ORIENT, AND I WILL REPLY WITH YOUR SCORE AND THE CORRECT ANSWERS.

Please remember that I am on the other side of the world (of most of you) so I could be asleep when you send your answers, so be patient - I will get to your PN as soon as I can.

The symbols represent either the title of a movie or an important item or aspect of the movie or is in some way representative of it.  Most require 2 symbols to prevent confusion with other movies that could comply.  Let's see how no screen shots and no quotations work out for you.  Multiple choices or T/F would have made it much too easy.  Almost all the movies I have used are the same movies as I have used for the last 3 or 4 quizzes and the odd other would be a famous classic.  Please number your answers the same as the images.  Some may be easy and some may be hard, so please give it a try.

OK - perhaps I fell asleep. Seems like a couple more pictures appeared for 16, 8, and 20 and 2 and 11  changed completely.  It would would change my answer for 8 and 2.

Pretty tricky - I bet you're testing to see if I'm a "bot". Am I suppose to click on all the pictures that have a streetlight and a bus?

I gave you score for 8 and 2 because there was ambiguity in the pictures - now I don't think there is any ambiguity in the quiz. 17 out of 20 is pretty good.

You responded to a reply I made to Adam???  Anyway, you still got a passing grade. Only Adam got an honours score so far.

By the way my reply to Adam was wrong - in fact there still were a couple of ambiguous clues.  There are so many movies it's really hard not to provide ambiguous clues.

Maybe I'll do a quiz.

1. What might this be? ?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.pinimg.com%2Foriginals%2F42%2F71%2Fc6%2F4271c6b19ed8e6e3041dad42e19412ef.jpg&f=1&nofb=1

Hummmm  - I wonder if I  could pass it?

Times up - this has been posted for a week.  And the winners are:  Adam_Selene 17/20, Kathleen (and spouse) 14/20, and a tie for third place, McAubrey and JohnRussell 11/20.  Here are the answers:

  1.  Interstellar.  When Cooper (Matthew McCaughnauhey - I can never spell his name right) was in another dimension he was able to knock the books off the shelves of his home library, which appeared to his daughter to be caused by a ghost. He was able to move the second hand on the old watch on the shelf with Morse Code.
  2.  Pretty Woman.  Well, I  think it's a picture of a pretty woman, and they went to a polo match.
  3.  A Knight's Tale.  A dead giveaway to anyone who saw the movie.
  4.  The DaVinci Code.   A cryptex that held a clue for the location of the Holy Grail - the code word to open it was APPLE.
  5.  Fargo.   I assume it isn't too hard to read the name on the truck.
  6.  The Shape of Water.  Well, those ARE shapes of water aren't they?
  7. The Accountant.   She's using a calculator as well as a computer, and who said an accountant has to be a man?- In the movie Dana (Anna Kendrick) was an accountant as well as Christopher Wolff (Ben Affleck). However, I added a tax return to dispel all doubt.
  8.  Sleepless in Seattle.   That guy looks pretty sleepless to me. Because of confusion with other movies, I added Seattle.
  9.  Ben Hur.   If you didn't get this one, give up on doing movie quizzes.
  10. Dances With Wolves.   Well, there you go - dancing wolves.  Would YOU dance with them?
  11. The Magnificent Seven.   Count the cowboys - there's one in the distance.
  12. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.   I might as well have posted a screenshot.
  13. Scarface.   Another super-easy one to guess.  By the way, the scar on her face is makeup only, not a real scar.
  14. Roman Holiday.   See those people looking at the Colosseum?   I'd guess they're on a holiday, but I've now added a second image to dispel all doubt about whose holiday it was.
  15. The Shawshank Redemption.  You KNOW Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins) didn't use a hacksaw to escape.
  16. Gone With the Wind.   This might have been a tough one - this guy is flying with his umbrella in a hurricane. Had to add a second picture for this one.
  17. Forrest Gump.   Isn't life just like a box of chocolates?  You never know what you're going to get.
  18. The Natural.  Roy Hobbs' (Robert Redford's) bat ("Wonderboy”) split in his second last at bat in the movie. To prevent confusion I also added a picture of a ball with its cover coming off because he did that as well.
  19. On the Waterfront.  The picture was actually a rendition of intended waterfront improvements in Seattle (not the correct city), but I've added a second image to make it an easier one to guess.  I will also accept Cinderella Man as a correct answer, because James J. Braddock also worked at the docks.
  20. To Kill a Mockingbird.  I hope that showing a someone shooting birds and a picture of a dead bird was enough to be a good enough hint.

So to you who didn't try (at least 7 of you did) it will be a frosty day before I post another movie quiz.
