Not that I Need a "Reason" …
There's a load of snow in Philly today, a perfect "excuse/reason" to stay around the house, photograph the birds around my feeders, and do a good number of new restorations.
And shovel out during the breaks.
Most of today's "vintage photos" will be of the 1904 World's Fair/Louisiana Purchase Exposition (St. Louis, Missouri).
Please return later today as I post the most interesting images (I'll call you).

Hello and call you later.
BF,
Looking forward to your photos. Animals and birds are never easy to photograph, but over time, the more you try, the more intuitive you'll become regarding anticipating movements and other nuances like positioning yourself so as to get good, uncluttered and blurred backgrounds.
We have nesting on our property, one of the most rare birds in the world. The world famous Gillygalou bird.
I've never been able to get a photo of it. But I did clime a huge tree and photo the nest with eggs in it. It's true.
Gotta' love this picture I just posted; I do.
More later.
As always, comments encouraged.
Kavika,
The image is difficult to view.
Great photo Mac.
Snow reminds me, that I'm no spring chicken. Hope your shoveling's done.
That picture is full of history Mac. World's fair, Louisiana purchase & Olympic games, to name just a few. That was a busy place in 1904.
Two more from the 1904 World's Fair (aka Louisiana Purchase Centennial Exposition).
Spent the day equally divided between shoveling snow and fixing pix.
Now if the streams weren't frozen, I'd have been torn
Priorities.
Awesome job as usual Mac! I really appreciate you sharing your Gift with all of us!!
My pleasure tzia62.
Each one of the are small treasures, Mac. I feel like I am stepping back in time. Amazing!
Right. I can't open it. Always wanted to see what a Gillygalou bird looked like. Is it something like the Foo bird?
Did you tie those yourself, A.Mac?
I did, but if you notice, the hooks aren't true streamer hooks and the barbs aren't pinched down. They were among the first I ever tied before my thumbs began to hurt.
Maybe this spring I'll try and ignore the arthritic pain and start tying again.
