I Need an Image! Cold as Ice
I saw the moon tonight
Through the window pane
Misty forms my breath
Under the silver light
Darkness shrouds the limbs
Of swaying barren trees
Standing starkly upright
Challenging the hissing winds
That savagely do blow
Sharp and cold as they might
Misty forms my breath
Under the silver light.

I wonder if anyone can give me an image to go with this here. Unfortunately, I accidentally deleted the photo I took the other night!
Lovely poem, Neetu. Maybe Mac would have one?
Thanks, Perrie, I am hoping Mac will have one for me.
That's why I am hibernating, BF!
Why, thank you, Mike!!!!!!!!!!!! That is beautiful, absolutely lovely!
As long as you weren't the one howling, BF, I guess it's okay.
Glad you found it, Mike!
Thank you, jwc! Lol, sort of looks like me, maybe....where is the moon, though???
Ha, smooth, jwc!!!!!!
My contribution to a well-written piece.
Mac, I am speechless! Thank you.
Would that call for a laryngitis image?
Lol, no! I think I can handle being speechless without a laryngitis image, Mac. The moon is far more beautiful!

Brolly, the silver light is just as I saw it that night! Through my window pane...it shone just as it does in your photo. Thank you so much!
He He He He......
I miss summer too, Six!
Lovely pictures, Six! I think I would rather be on this side of the window pane looking out, though..like you! Thank you so much!
Six, you need to get some new windows.... they will keep your house a lot warmer
I wonder why this picture is so familiar? It is beautiful! Thanks, Six.
Brolly, my favorite is the first one. I keep it up in the summer. LOL
Now that is a nice picture with Neetu's poem Brolly. Perfect.
Ah, California dreams...........I am so jealous right now, Justice!
You lucky dog (well not technically). Moving to Palm Springs. It's 33 here but I believe it got into the low low 20s last night. Rain in the forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday. Nothing but sunshine for Thursday, but the high will be 40 degrees here in Charlotte.
They say sunshine builds strong bones. If you don't go outside your bones get more fragile. I need the light. I can stand the cold, but I don't like the short days and dreary wet weather with rain. Thank goodness I don't have to be in it at least this week. The only thing I don't like about Spring is the possibilities of Tornadoes.
I bet the moon is just as silver there! Heck, I have been to California but didn't look up at the moon!
A Mac this picture would look nice on a postcard or the front of a book. Nice.
chilly, you said, Justice????You are just rubbing it in on Six and me, aren't you? Meanie!!!!!!!!
If it weren't so cold, I would love to disappear into that mist!
Sixpick,
Any of my NT friends who may considering publishing a book, etc., can feel free to request a cover design (gratis, of course).
Thanks, Mac - if I ever get around to it, I shall remember that!
How would a simple picture do for you? Like possibly this one: As with most things for me today I just stumbled over your beautiful work.
Beautiful picture of the moon Tsula. Did you take that photo? It's perfect.
oh, my dear tsula! This is such a lovely picture of the moon! Thank you. It does very nicely indeed!
Lovely poem, Neetu. Brings to mind several cold nights I've experienced. You have a good way with words.
SP, no, my daughter, who shares the same fascination of the moon as I, took it from her back deck in Ct. Because I wanted only the moon I cropped out the foliage and this was the result. Thanks for the compliment though.
Neetu, there is just something about seeing the moon hanging silently in the sky is so fascinating. I membered this after reading your beautiful words and thought that somehow it was appropriate! Thanks.
Thank YOU, tsula, for your kind words. I am glad you liked the poem and could feel a connection through it.
Cold, yes, Loretta. And so icy, so silver, so perfectly shimmering it seemed as I watched it. Thank you for your sweet words and for coming by to read my humble poem. I do remember you from NV - wonderful to see you here!
I love the moon. And yes, we have silvery moons here in California. One time, the moon was huge in the sky, just beginning to rise, shining a bright silver. We were on horseback, running late on our ride home from a day in the hills. As we crested the last ridge, my horse spotted that huge moon. It seemed so close we could have touched it. He was a bit of a coward, and that bright moon unnerved him completely. He wanted to race downhill to escape from it. Fortunately, he listened and we walked down, albeit a bit jiggy. Never forgot that gorgeous moon or his silly reaction.
It's good to see you here too.
If y'all wanted a Silvery moon how about this wherea Boeing 767 is taking off from the Newark Airport. Notice the heat waves coming from the engines and distorting the moon's surface. I use this as my background picture.
That is a sweet story, Loretta. Poor horse got tricked by the moon! I shall have to look for the moon next time I visit California, now that you mention it.
Lol, tsula, I am not sure what I think of this plane in front of the silver moon....hmmm, need to think. I mean, it has a bit of drama to it, like a silhouette stretching across the whiteness of the moon.
Consider the mystery of more than a hundred people and their various ultimate destinations silhouetted against that beautiful moon. I especially like the heat waves since they would not be visible except for the lunar background.
Oh, By the light... (Oh, By the Light)
Of the silvery moon (Of the silvery moon)
.........
It was really difficult to find the exactly right picture for the poem, but here are a few from which to choose:
This one is a Dali painting:
My, Buzz, I am impressed with the collection you have showered me with! Thank you! I think, hmmm, the last one might be the most appropriate in terms of the theme of the poem, an perhaps the second one from the top. I like that one too. I mean, they are all beautiful!
LOL, Brolly! Now if you can break into song, that would be nice !
Yes, that is indeed a mystery to consider, my friend tsula!
Thank you to so many of you for the lovely images you gave me for my little poem! Indeed, I cannot pick just one out of them - there are so many gorgeous ones.
Images and words when well-coordinated, can sometimes create something much deeper than either medium alone.
