New York City Shocker: Madison Square Garden Sold Out For Christian Worship Service
Madison Square Garden was completely sold out not for Taylor Swift, One Direction, or Carrie Underwood but for a jaw-dropping night of worship.Saturday night Chris Tomlin and several other Christian artists chose New York City to kick off their first-ever Worship Night in America, a rare event in the City That Never Sleeps.Chris Tomlins vision was to see the unity of the church, not only praising God but praying for our nation, and bringing the church around one name the name of Jesus. And thats exactly what happened.Tomlin called out the five boroughs of New York City met with excitement that only New Yorkers can show, followed by roughly 14,000 people uniting as one in worship and prayer.Special guest artists included Reuben Morgan, Matt Maher, Matt Redman, and Kari Jobe and her husband Cody Carnes, and Rend Collective.Tomlin shared that this was a dream, years in the making. He said it was less a concert and more a worship experience bringing Christians of all walks of life together as one church. The Northern Irish band Rend Collective opened the night with some folksy rock music with My Lighthouse and Build Your Kingdom Here that brought the audience to their feet, jumping for joy. Then Tomlin was joined by all the guest artists together on stage. They led worship with songs from each artist. Reuben Morgans Cornerstone, Matt Redmans Blessed Be Your Name, Kari Jobes Revelation Song and Forever, Matt Mahers Lord, I Need You, and Tomlins Our God, At The Cross (Love Ran Red), and Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone).Louie Giglio and Max Lucado both gave a message between worship songs.Giglio spoke about the Name of Jesus and Lucado talked about the importance of prayer to Jesus. The night ended with Tomlins hit Gods Great Dance Floor, complete with giant beach balls for the audience to throw around as they danced like no ones watching. But the audience was so amped up that the band came back for an encore and played Redmans 10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord) to end the night. The event partnered with the Museum of the Bible, giving attendees an opportunity to check out the epic Bible museum being built in Washington, D.C. http://nation.foxnews.com/2015/08/13/new-york-city-shocker-madison-square-garden-sold-out-christian-worship-service
