Some of our greatest drummers discuss why Ringo was one of the best and under rated drummers ever. Very informative video that is fun even for non drummers.
Sorry, but only a link as embeds have been disabled.
I thought the same thing!! It would have been my firstblubbering episode of the day. No worries, though. I'm sure something else will come along and I'll beblubbering uncontrollably by the shank of the evening.
Dowser-I thought the same thing. That thought, jumps in there more often, the older I get.
Perrie-Those other drummers are nothing to sneeze at either. Grohl produced & directed a collaboration album called "Sound City". Paul McCartney contributed to it.
I know, and it's so cool that you know your music! I thought it was so interesting how they talked about his style and what made him so unique. Sadly when everyone thinks of great drummers they think about the size of the set, not what they can do with it.
There was a special on E 'bout a month ago on Ringo - weird dude, gorgeous wife, pretty influential guy, lousy actor, gorgeous wife, strange man though
There were a few tracks that Paul did the drumming on, on the "White Album". Ringo was hand picked by the Beatles to replace Pete Best, because he was the most experienced musician (even more than any of the other Beatles). If you have an article stating something different, I am curious.
This is great!
When I first read the title, I was saying to myself, "Oh NO! Not Ringo! He's not dead!!!" Thank God he isn't!
He is such a lovely man!

I am so sorry everyone. It was a Tribute from the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame Dinner. Thank goodness he's alive and well!
One,

Interesting article Perrie. I've always liked Ringo.
McCartney and Lennon would studio recut just about everything they did. All four of them.
Until Lennon got tired of it and left, and came back, and left, and came back. Harrison left the band a couple of times over it also.
Finally McCartney left never to come back.
Good stuff.
Dave Grohl..."If you can do this *chinka-chinka-chinka* and have people dancing, you're a bad ass".
Yup.
Plus, look at how many others Ringo influenced!

You and my 5th grade friend Debbie.
Me too! Some more interesting music to come.
Ayatollah,

Nowhere Man,
This is true, especially towards the end. It seemed that losing their manager, left them in a state of disarray that was obvious at first.
Yeah, I thought that was cool too, Larry. Who knew?
1st,
All true. Btw... did you mention his gorgeous wife?
Jannilee,
You are right! I totally forgot about that show. He was great in that!
