My wife took the double portrait with her cell phone; she said "smile" but the bass had a hard time doing so with my thumb in his mouth. So you know, when holding bass in the manner shown, it causes them to go motionless and makes it easy to remove the lure and release them quickly and unharmed.
I took the picture at around noon today. The weather has been dry in Northeastern Pennsylvania and the night time temperatures in the mid-thirties to low forties.
About a hundred miles south, we have leaves starting. I was in Wayne County last weekend and couldn't help but notice the difference. Looks like a healthy fish too.
Wow, still VERY early spring where you are! Beautiful pictures, for sure! Love the bass!
Our grass is so green, and we've had to mow 3 times already, and all the azaleas are out, the daffodils have gone, replaced by tulips, the violets are blooming, and a whole crop of dandelions have already bloomed and gone to seed.
I saw the cutest thing the other day, but missed taking a picture. A little squirrel bit off the top of a dandelion that had gone to seed, and me driving by startled him into looking up. He looked like he had a Santa Claus beard! He was so cute!
I live in Philly -- my "cabin" in the Poconos is about 90 miles up the Pennsylvania Turnpike NE Extension ... it's small but comfortable and about 7 minutes from the lake this lake.
We can fish from my jon boat or along the lake bank. I have lots of spinning rods, 4 fly rods and you can choose whatever lures, etc. you like.
Another smallie from the lake.
There are largemouth, smallmouth, brook, brown, rainbow and tiger trout, huge calico bass and yellow perch as well.
What a beauty Mac. We don't have any trout in Table Rock, but in Tannycomo, about 20 minutes from here they have rainbow and german brown. Last year a guy caught a 16 lb Brown.
In Table Rock, we have large and smallmouth, white bass, spotted bass, crappie, walleye and various other panfish. Of course catfish and gar.

Glad you cleared that up.. I was a bit confused.
Still looking very winter like up in thePoconos. But really nice shot!
It's actually the bass' hat but he was in no position to negotiate.
For the record, I replaced it on his head before returning him to the water.

Wish you were here...
You can't fool me. I know damn well it would never wear a Phillies hat when it's a fan of the Florida Marlins.
Great photos Mac. Ahhh, a little largemouth. Here is a photo of his mama. 10 lbs 2 oz. After photo returned to the water unharmed.
Sorry, Clear Lake Ca. 2009 around 7:30PM.
Hehehehe, good one Buzz.
Great fish, Kavika; I've read about those California largemouths they eat trout that troubles me.
I'm going to look for a photo of a smallmouth I caught several years ago in the same lake my little bass came from if I find it I'll post it.
RE: The Phillies cap
You got me good, Buzz!
Mac, I want to see the smallmouth...Hurry up.
Here it is one BIG smallie. Kavika, if you're ever out my way and you can spare a day or two, I'll take you fishing up in the Poconos.
Really nice smallie Mac. Not if, but when I get your way. I would love to go fishing in the Poconos.
If you ever down my way in the Ozarks, I would love to take you fishing on Table Rock Lake. Both large and smallmouth here and Walleye.
Sounds good Kavika! Both ideas.

Sounds wonderful Mac. A fishing cabin on the lake, what could be better. The lake looks just beautiful.
When you get down here, there's a bedroom waiting for you in the ''Wooden Tipi'' and the boat is about 3 minutes from the tipi.
I have plenty of rods and reels and more lures then I can ever use...LOL, you can take your pick.
Mac, 10 lb 8 oz hawg. Clear Lake March 2010 above photo. Below photo 8 lb 8 oz. Vail Lake Ca. 2011
