VIDEO Movie Contest #1 -- Great Westerns! Guess your favorite western!
Every few days, I'll publish a video with 15-20 movies of a specific genre! The fun part is that YOU guess the movies!
How To Play
- You can use the answer sheet, attached, or make your own!
- Watch the video clips of the movies-- each clip is 10-15 seconds long
- Write the name of the movie in the blank!
- You can discuss the movies below! But, NO HINTS from me! (Remind me of this, ok?)
Answers will be given the next day, after the video has been up for at least 24 hours!
Let's have some FUN!
An answer sheet is attached below, if you want to print it out!
Have FUN!
Suggestions are welcome-- do you think the clips are too long? Not long enough?
Thanks for coming by!

Have fun!
Remember, (Marsha), NO HINTS! But, we can all discuss things...
The point is, to have some fun!!! Not get bogged down in rules... Please play nicely with one another!!!
No one wants to play?
Which one of these is your favorite?
I do love me some Oaters. I'll get back to this later.
I've gotta admit that I don't much care for the older ones, "Red River" excepted, due to my obsession with anachronisms in period movies. I couldn't get through "Django..." due to that peculiarity. The lack of attention to detail just annoys the heck out of me. I drive my Most Amazing Daughter bonkers with my whining. Such is life.
I'll be re-visiting this genre in the future-- if you don't see something you'd like, let me know and I'll try to include it next time!
If you want, that's great! Whatever y'all want to do!
I'm not offering prizes this time, but way later on... Sure, post away! I just can't say until I give out the answers!
LOL!!! Nope, it sure isn't!
You got almost all of them! All those Clint Eastwood westerns were a lot alike, weren't they? Hard to find a 'definitive' scene on video...
Thanks so much for playing!
I would have loved to have played, but as you know I cannot open YouTube. Maybe I'll post an article about Classic Westerns on the Classic Cinema group where articles on Classic movies is always welcome.
Answers tonight!
Hi, Buzz! I posted this to the Classic Cinema group! It should be on there! Is there a video from another place that you can open?
He's my favorite, too!
Golly, looking for videos of his movies-- they all look the same... But, he was a GREAT cowboy!!!
Alas, I am at work, and my computer at home died this morning... I THINK I can fix it, but didn't have time this morning. I bought a new computer last night. No matter what, I'll somehow get the answers posted tonight!
I'm so tired of computer problems right now... The new computer looks great, but it is Windows 8, and Uh Oh....
Ok, we'll do some TV westerns, too! Maybe later? Right now, I'm working on Scy-fy...
Were the clips long enough? Too long?
I liked Silverado, too!
OK-- here is the list of Clint Eastwood westerns, (that I can find)...
I can't remember, (and I'm sorry, I'm at work), exactly which ones are in the contest. BUT, I know that a Fistfull of Dollars is NOT in the movie clips...
NO you're not!!! I promise!
This is just for fun! MAYBE we'll have prizes later, but right now, it's so hard to put these together, that scoring and awarding, is just too much! Especially with the computer problems I'm having!
(((((((((((((((Mike)))))))))))))))
You're such a sweetheart! You can change your answers, you know...
HINT: Look up Lee Van Cleef... He's in one of those clips...
Dowser,..before I leave for my gold panning adventure I just cant help myself with one last comment....
Guess my favorite western??? How will I ever know if I guessed it right? is there a right or wrong guess as to which westerns are y favorite....
if I were to guess I would have to take a stap at the obvious guess,....
But of course!!! I loved the Lone Ranger on TV, and guess what-- I love you too, dear friend!
For me it was Silverado, had everything a western should, number two was Dances with Wolves. With the technology they have today some great remakes could be made.
Yes, and most of my programs won't work.
I've stewed about this for 3 weeks. To order the exact same computer I have, would cost almost $600-- and I would still have to purchase software. So, I went to the local Giant Store and got a new one, with more memory, whistles and bells, Windows 8 for $500.
As I say, I've stewed and fretted over my decision... I'm going to get my Windows 7 laptop fixed. But will gradually, (as I have $$), purchase the software for the Windows 8.
How I've felt about it: Just shoot me.
Well, I can't help but agree with you on all counts.
Although, I did love High Plains Drifter, with Clint.
Yes they could!!!
I wanted to put Dances with Wolves in there, and have a clip-- maybe next time!
Bless your heart! I'm so sorry!
Audio-- I hope that you don't have a real problem with your audio card-- are you sure it's working? How to check-- go to Control Panel and there is a section there for hardware. Make sure that it's turned on! (And yes, mine got turned off once, and I was frantic!!!!)
Good LUCK!
I know, I "knew" all of them too-- I left off the ones I had never seen... (LOL!)
Tell you what, when you play each section, hit the stop button, until you're ready to continue! Maybe that will help!
Good luck!

I suck! If this was Sci Fi I would have creamed it.
The first one one there is The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. I didn't do any of the others, just that one.
I love you, and you did fine. Just fine!!!
It's next-- if I can keep the computer working.... ARGHH!
Hope your day was a good one!
Dear Merleliz! Thanks! I'm just glad you liked it!
Westworld is one of those that sort of fit under several categories... It was also one of those that the clip worked out...
I have seen the Searchers, but remembered the book, better than the movie! As soon as I saw them send Debbie away, I knew what it was...
Thanks so much for playing!
I did not know numbers 14, 16, or 18.
Tombstone is my fav because of Val Kilmer's portrayal of Doc. I have this on blu ray and watch it at least once a month.
TV Westerns --- love the Gene Autry Show and Roy Rogers, but also love Brisco County, Jr and Deadwood. I have the aforementioned on DVD along with Laredo, F Troop, The Guns of Will Sonnet, Wagon Train, The Virginian, Bat Masterson, Hop A Long Cassidy, The Cisco Kid, The Big Valley.
I no longer have satellite TV, but I have Netflix, Hulu and enough DVDs to keep me more than entertained.
Wonderful suggestions!!!
My favorite was Wagon Train-- although the Virginian was REALLY good, too! I miss all these old shows on TV. I'd MUCH rather watch one of them, or a new one like it, than some reality nonsense.
14 - The Wild Bunch
15 - Tombstone
16 - The Treasure of Sierra Madre
18 - Westworld! (more of a science fiction/Western, kind of like Cowboys and Aliens...)
What and not one mention of the "Outlaw Josey Whales"
Well, this is just Round 1!!! Wait, we'll come back to this!
