Sad state of affairs indeed, our educational ranking is no better. But we are number one in defense spending, yeah!

The policy of the AMA and the pharmacutical companies is treat not cure. That and the fact that the America insurance companies do not like to insure or treat the poor, or middle class who cannot afford their exorbatant

insurance rates. Affordable care act will help but no solution to the cure instead of treat psychology.

Prior to Ronald Reagan's deregulation frenzy, health care was inexpensive and very affordable. Only a handful of insurance companies provided it such as "Blue Cross/Blue Shield" and they were limited by government regulations to only a 10% profit. The corporatist's saw this as an untapped source for massive profits and convinced the gullible Reagan to uncork a series of deregulation measures which eventually saw out health care system plummet in quality (unless you can pay premium prices) and costs skyrocket.

Since there is no going back, "single payer" health care is the way to go.

I agree we need to put the hospital ratings on here as well they are miserable. If you need major health care such as surgery move overseas. In Consumer report the results of Hospital evaluations are scary.

Yes and thats sick. If you get shot in us go overseas to get treated. There was a positive if you live to be eighty you statistically should live longer. Chances of getting to eighty and number of children who die at birth we rank highly. Third world numbers are upon us.

Found thembut on my. Cell andcannot figure out how to li k it. But looking at heart disease cancer stroke and infections highest cause of death by a wide margin is Homicide most of those are by gun shot. Homicide 6.2 percent over 4 times that of cancer. Us hospitals rated only 50% compared to foreign hospitals like France and Germany and many others. Why the cash is being raked off by insurance companies and medical companies pharmaceutical industry.

Luther28 defense spending is so far out of control we spend way more than anyone actually if I remember more tha the next six largest military spending countries. A large share of our industriall base is defense connected. Even some of the military spending is using foreign countries to produce it.

We just keep building our military just like Russia did before they went into a huge downward economic time. Its mostly debt spending because we sell it to our government and borrow the money to do it. That is where the spending goes not into health care and medicssl research.
