New to the site - fresh from Newsvine.....

Just joined tonight, figuring out the site, looking the groups over, etc. Looking around this seems like a nice community with all the normal opposing views, and perhaps a little calmer style of debate. I am interested in many topics and enjoy understanding not just what you stand for, but why...

While there is a lot of arguing about political issues, etc, IMO one of the things that makes this site unique is that generally speaking, there's a bit more respect for peoples' opposing views than there is on many other Internet sites.`Or, perhaps more accurately-- there's more acceptance of people with opposing views.
As a result, for the most part there's less energy put into name-calling and personal attacks, and more of a focus on discussing the actual topic. So there are many discussions that are much more intelligent than is the norm on most sites on the 'net.

Welcome Indepvoter! I'm rather new as well like so many I believe and still learning. I know you will enjoy this site very much. There are so many things to do, such as you can post a song like this instead of what you have been use to doing and there are different groups you can get involve in and they also have the hell hole where you can let it all hang out.
