Perrie, I went to the survey and my cat, Tuckeransweredit for me. No telling what he said. No, not really, done and high marks. I like it here although I do still sneak in to NV sometimes. It still sucks.
I just snuck into NV a few minutes ago. Hate is too mild a word for how I feel about that site. It has gone beyond vile. I will say one thing; I now enjoy reviling it. They asked for all the badmouthing they are getting... and then some! If they want it to stop, they know what they can do.
But they won't. I have an emoticon just for NV: Geez... I can't make it load! Too bad.

What I like to see there is that the hate mongers do not get the audience they did before. They are just blowing in the wind. I now only go back to rescue some of my articles from my old groups. On April 1st I will close down my groups and abandon the place entirely. I hate it, and I am quite happy here on NT. Those thieves stole my earnings and I do not want to be a party to their making one more cent.
I wish I could send it to them, but I deleted my account. But, he's there for anyone who wants to save him to their files (like a photo) and use as they see fit!

Aaaaarrrrgh!!! I went to close out my NV account and I can't do it on the computer I'm using. I don't know if it's a new trick or just this computer. I have a Mac that I use at home and I'll do it there. This one, after I respond to all their silly questions, hell yes I'm sure, asks me Do I want the page deliverd securely or view all contents...No matter how I answeritdoes the same thing, it takes me back to NV and I'm still active. And I can't X out of the page without answering the question.It's an evil plot I tell you. Dastardly deeds!
I have a question for anyone who may know; where does Newstalkers hide their spell check? My Mac does it for me but this PC doesn't.
Spell check is a function of whatever browser you use. It is the default setting in Firefox and Chrome... at least on my computer. I'm using Firefox at the moment and spell-check works. Since I never had to do anything to MAKE it work, it must be the default setting.
It wouldn't surprise me in the least if NV decided to block people from un-subbing. It has to be feeling the rarity of the now-under-populated atmosphere... I wonder what it would do if you did something bannable!
I'll try my Mac at home and if it doesn't work, then maybe I'll use your suggestion. How bad does it have to be to get permanently banned? My luck, I won't get banned and it will remain there in perpetuity. I did post my opinion on NV and said I was leavingbut they won't pay attention to that (we already knew they don't care).
Well, if you want to get banned I'd suggest you start a slap-fight with someone. Call them vile names, be a real nasty so-and-so and hope the mods catch you at it. I'd suggest you find an active article with more than one comment on it... if you try doing it with an article of your own, it could languish in limbo forever, with no one the wiser. SRO's ban list is getting smaller and smaller... so if you cannot delete your own account and want to be banned, be sure you do it in a real big way. Heck, try re-regging... set up a "parachute" account (in addition to the one you already have), and if that doesn't work, set up more accounts until someone notices you. At this point, it's hard to say if even that will get you banned. I'm betting that they are starting to notice the stampede outta there...
Woohoo! Success, I tried to log in to NV on my Mac this morning and I wasn't there anymore. I didn't even have to get banned to do it. Color me gone from NV.

I don't know if the April 1st movement is still on, but I'm aiming for it.
I am slowly taking all my original articles out of circulation there. I'm going to save them to a memory stick and maybe re-post some of them here. I didn't like the way they took our money either.
The place is turning into a cesspool over there. I just checked the front page over there for the first time in about a week. I clicked some of the seeds with the most replies, (some of them have 50!...most have 4 or 5), and the RWNJ rhetoric and name calling is off the chart!
