What happens to the Roman Catholic Archdioscese of Los Angeles and Cardinal Mahoney?

Rape, sexual violence, endangering children: none of the mandatory reporters have yet to be prosecuted.

It seems the Church's legal department is for the statute of limitations to run out.

This is worse than it looks.

When will the Churches come clean that they were a haven for child molesters for centuries perhaps many decades for sure. Church protecting their own rather than the children they profess to protect above all else. Why has the public turned against religion a fine explanation is the thousands maybe hundreds of thousands of abused children in the name of GOD. Acceptance/tolerance makes everyone in the chain complicit.Frown.gif

There has been anapology by the Irish government for collaborating with theRC church. The only way the Vatican would acknowledge the past abuses is if the Church can avoid fiscal or moral responsibilty.

One thing that is often forgotten in this debate, is that it isn't only the Catholic Church that has had this problem. All churches have this problem. I guess because the Catholic Church is so large, and with such a far-reaching organization, it is more noticeable. However, I know that other churches have the same problems.

While I hate the Catholic Church to receive such negative publicity-- they deserve it. So does any other church that covers up child abuse, molestation, etc.

It is a real shame, all the way around. Smile.gif

The Archdioscese paid of the Los Angeles clergy abuse victims and admitted no wrong doing. I'll go check the payments ( to make sure the Roman Catholic diocese doesn't cover its' claims in bankruptcy of chapter or a sort.A Roman Catholicwill have to make sure thesecurio and ecclesiastical judgeswho covered up these foul and heinous deeds gets to Roman Catholic heaven.

The crimes dissapate as does a puff of smoke.

Do you mean the John Jay report that was commissioned by the US Conference of Catholic Bishops that came out 2004?

The Roman Catholic hierarchy fail to demand sufficient accountability for cover ups and misguided illegal actions.

my god, you are actually prepared to exploit child abuse to defend the church & attack people who don't kowtow before it.

but then that is what Ratzinger ordered isn't it.
