I could understand most of the French without translation, and its been a long time since I had to study French in high school, but thankfully you provided the translation as well.
Buzz
I only really understood every fourth word or so, s the translation seemed appropriate though I figured there would be a bunch f folks on NT that would be able to read and understand the French
...and a lot who can't.
These are really interesting and beautiful! What fun!
Note: I took German. French is beyond me! Thanks for the translation!

Glad to be of help
I took Latin and Spanish in high school, studied Russian in the service and then lived in Germany for a long time and picked up a little of some of the other romance languages as I traveled around Europe.
After all these years, I remember a little bit of this one and that one and a little more of Russian and Latin
Wow!
You're like my son-- the language king! Matthew speaks basic Japanese, Chinese, and some Mongolian... He is taking Japanese, so it learning it formally, but really can speak Chinese better!

I think the early (and multi year) exposure to Latin with a great teacher laid the foundation and helped me in learning other languages. I also found that it was more fun exploring Europe And South America if you were able to speak at least a few phrases of the language with the people.
I was always treated great even when I butchered the language as I tried to communicate, except maybe in Paris where they look down on poorly spoken French.
I think learning languages is a great way to understand those that speak the language as a native tongue.
Germans seem to speak around something, then hit it on the head. Example: Hit your head on the lamp, not.

You are correct
Schlagen Sie Ihren Kopf auf die Lampe nicht
