They grow wild in habitats similar to other members of the Daisy Family; other varieties are pink, white and violet. These for some reason, are ignored by the deer who visit my property regularly while any of the other colors they eat with vigor.
When the flowers go to seed, I collect the seeds and plant them in the following spring.
That's really interesting. The colour may be a sign that there is something different and upalatable about that specific breed of the genus, recognized by the deer.
Beautiful flowers. A Mac. First thought was "daisies"! Such a bright shade of yellow, my favorite color. Bright gold and orange, too. You're a natural at photographing nature! (HA!) (But you are!)
Unlike in "Nature," the preponderance of vital "nutrients" in the Global Economy, are manipulated by the "big trees" to the detriment of the "plants" in the "understory."
Without a healthy "understory," in time, the "big trees" will no longer be sustained by that "ecosystem."
In Nature, Ecological Niches are crucial to the survival of an ecosystem.
Anecological nicheis the role and position a species has in its environment; how it meets its needs for food and shelter, how it survives, and how it reproduces. A species'nicheincludes all of its interactions with the biotic and abiotic factors of its environment.
The greedy bastards collectively called "Organized Wealth" or, "The Criminal Rich" (by Teddy Roosevelt), are orchestrating a race to the bottom.
Greed kills.
But I do appreciate the way your (Rush's) metaphor -- wrongheaded though it is -- made me think (of a rebuttal/response).
Actually, the moral is that the only way to make up for the inherent inequities of the inferior is to chop down the superior.
That isn't justice, it's sacrilege.
In your poem, yes but as a metaphor, it's not an apt comparison to how trees, ecosystems and nature endure; in fact, Mike, ultimately, both in nature and in the world of human shortcomings, the "canopy" needs the "understory," not in a subservient way, rather, in an equitable, give and take manner.
Further, the inequities and disparities lead to conflicts and even war wars the "big trees" call for, and, wars in which the children of the "understory" DIE, AND DIE IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN THE VERY INEQUITIES THAT SENT THEM TO DO SO!
If these don't make you feel good you have my deepest sympathy.
They do deserve publication - very beautiful, and yes, they do make me feel good.
I see what kind of ugly, dumb shit is going on on NT and it angers me, makes me sad, and more importantly, makes me consider staying away.
I sure as hell know what you mean, but don't let the bad guys win.
Cerenkov,

Either taste or smell or both.
Here's another variety I photographed it the first day it opened. A day later it was chewed off of the stem.
That's really interesting. The colour may be a sign that there is something different and upalatable about that specific breed of the genus, recognized by the deer.
Beautiful flower Mac.
Good thing you don't have elephants in your back yard, they eat anything that's yellow.
As long as there is some good in the world, there is hope.

Many thanks for the kind words.

As for a "union", the UNITED STATES is one

Good conversation.
