I loved Mr. Rickman as an actor-- since the first time I saw him in The January Man with Kevin Kline, as a bit player! He had a distinctive voice, and seemed to be a very nice guy!
My prayers are with his family and friends.

Both Bowie and Rickman died at 69 of cancer this week. You know what they say about things happening in 3's.
Sad to see him go. Loved him in Harry Potter.
I'm so sad about his death!
Poor man! I loved him as an actor-- since the first movie I saw him in... David Bowie's death was hard to take, but add this to it, and it's awful...
As you say, one can't help but wonder, Who's next?
It also makes we wonder about Britain's health care system. Could either one of them have had a better outcome here?
My uncle had sage 4 prostate cancer in England and had wonderful care and is still alive and well 15 years later. I think that this is just some fluke.
Well, that makes me feel better! Not much you can do with liver cancer, (David Bowie), but not sure what kind of cancer poor Mr. Rickman had. I'm so sorry to hear this!
Ohhhhhh......! This makes me so sad. I really enjoyed his work. I thought most of his movies were worth watching but my favorites are Sense and Sensibility and Galaxy Quest. I actually just watched GQ last week. No matter how many times I see that movie I laugh my butt off. Truly an underrated actor. He will be missed.
He was a great actor and a good man! Even playing a villain, he never crossed the line into crudeness or beyond control. He refused to "man-handle" Bonnie Bedelia in Die Hard, saying that his character was essentially a gentleman. Nice!
I just watched Sense and Sensibility for the second time, and particularly watched Rickman. He was remarkably restrained in that role which was quite appropriate for the character as depicted by Jane Austen. I always felt that he shone in his roles that were exaggerated charicatures, such as in Robin, Prince of Thieves. The variations showed his great scope and adaptability.
Buzz, thanks!
I feel the same way, and have been trying to get to that movie for days now... I will look forward to seeing it again!
His one-liners and come-backs are going to be really missed.
RIP Alan.
I'm really going to miss him-- I actually went to movies that he was in, just because he was in them. I knew that they would be good movies!
He truly was the perfect villain, he carried the persona off so well. I'll miss seeing him in the movies.
He had a curious, warm quality to his voice that could be quite chilling, or making him seem utterly lovable. I will miss him, too!
Damn!!! Another one of my favourite actors gone too soon. I loved his voice and accent.
RIP Allan.
Always enjoyed his performances.
I did, too, Kavika. I'm so sad that he is gone...
Yesterday I was happy to have watched the movie "A Little Chaos" which is the last released movie Rickman did. (There two he did more recently, not yet released and one of which has his voice only.) He not only acted but directed the movie and took part in the writing. He played the King of France and did it beautifully. Although it was not a highly rated movie, I enjoyed it immensely.
