Now A.Mac, you know the sun does not rise and set The fact that my morning is your evening is proof that the world is round, and rotates. However, what would the reality do to all the beautiful songs and poems written about sunrises and sunsets. Fiddler on the Roof would certainly be a loser.
Sorry for that sloppy, layman's account of an astronomical phenomena, Buzz.
As the earth's rotation (some 800 miles per hour at my latitude) causes the visibility of the sun to become obstructed by virtue of its (the earth's) oblate spherical physiognomy, proceeding from west to east longitudinally (with a periodicity of 23 hours, 56 minutes -- thus accounting for the leap day/year every fourth calendar year), we thus have the illusion of an astronomical body (in this instance, the Sun) … setting or sinking.
What was I thinking with that "sunset" nonsense?
My apologies; I haven't taught astronomy since the late '70s.
Actually, I took this shot a few years ago.
But what the heck.
And a good night to all … I'll look for you at sunrise

Tomorrow, images of sunrise …
Ooops … sorry.
Love it! As always, thanks for sharing.
Nice Mac! I like the colors and reflections on the water but my favorite are the duck silhouettes. They capture the tranquility of the scene.
Love seeing the ducks, nature at it's finest.
