On Being Koi

… well, you know how I like to play with words …

Fishing for compliments on this one …

… and admit to having been coy in the headline.

What's going on with the uploads tonight?

I heard Perrie is working on it. Lots of double posts and uploads.

There used to be a great restaurant in West Hollywood that had an indoor Koi pond. They had to post a sign telling people not to feed the Koi because every time you got close to the edge of it all of the Koi would come to where you were standing and open and close their mouth on the surface, begging for food. Smart fish!

I am gratified to have lured in friends who came to dip their figurative toes.

I've had a Koi try to nip my fingertip once. I wonder if they'd go for a toe too? Fortunately they don't have a very strong bite.

Great photo by the way!

Is that your own koi pond?

I wish it was; and if I had one, there'd be a brook trout pond next to it.

Excellent, as always A Mac. Thank you.

Anyone around here who has tried to have a fish pond have been ravaged by the raccoons and possums. My neighbor down the road tried to cover his over with wire mess, anchored it all around with cement blocks, filled his pond with fish. The next morning the mesh was laying in the flower bed, the cement blocks were in the water, and the fish were gone. He filled in the pond and set up a water fountain instead.

A Mac - I've been fishing for something to say but I'm flailing when it comes to finding the right words.  Keeping it reel can shore be difficult sometimes.  (hehehehe)

Bank on it … I enjoy remarks that flow out of a stream of consciousness.

It helps me to keep current.
