The Details are the Thing
Earlier today I went into the woods with my new camera; first time on a tripod and using a cable release; these to eliminate the possibility of any camera shake and resultant blur.
I shot this and a number of other shots using an aperture of f22 … s mall apertures = greater depth-of-field
In optics, particularly as it relates to film and photography , depth of field (DOF), also called "focus range or effective focus range", is the distance between the nearest and farthest objects in a scene that appear acceptably sharp in an image.
Not all subjects/scenes benefit from edge-to-edge sharpness, but scenes like the one below … definitely do.
But you decide.

A Much Better Look at One From the Same Series
Eventually I'll be providing links to these and better views.
A link to one of the images in the same series.
A better look.
Good Night to All.
Beautiful photo Mac. Well done.
I agree and you seem to be having entirely too much fun with your new toy young man!
Just gorgeous!
(I want one of those)

I agree that the subject matter lends itself to sharp and clear detail.
I have more of these new pix … but it appears the front page Trumps the rest of the site.
Understandable … but frustrating.
