The Details are the Thing

Earlier today I went into the woods with my new camera; first time on a tripod and using a cable release; these to eliminate the possibility of any camera shake and resultant blur.

I shot this and a number of other shots using an aperture of f22 … s mall apertures = greater depth-of-field

In optics, particularly as it relates to film and  photography depth of field  (DOF), also called "focus range or effective focus range", is the distance between the nearest and farthest objects in a scene that appear acceptably sharp in an image.

Not all subjects/scenes benefit from edge-to-edge sharpness, but scenes like the one below … definitely do.

But you decide.

I agree that the subject matter lends itself to sharp and clear detail.

I have more of these new pix … but it appears the front page Trumps the rest of the site.

Understandable … but frustrating.
