RE -Restoration of Vintage Photos

I have been working on restorations recently … old photos on glass slides (Magic Lantern Slides); as new software becomes available or updated, I'm finding I can attain even better results in getting 100+ year-old images brighter, clear and with better contrast.

Once digitized and restored, I am creating borders/framing elements, and placing captions, mostly using cursive fonts.

An interesting dilemma is in determining when a vintage photo has been restored to the level at which it looks "too fresh to be vintage". If the subject matter doesn't date itself on sight alone, a caption is often a must.

A Better Look Here

If it were not for the clothing (specifically what looks like a straw hat on the man walking away) it would be very difficult to tell that that photo was taken in 1915. Great job!

This is another article I never saw before. I think these articles get wiped off the Front Page during the time I'm sleeping.
