This is so beautiful!!! It reminds me of what someone once said, "The tree that grows on the cliff and is bent and withered is no less beautiful than the one that grows in the sheltered nook, and is often the strongest and bears the richest fruit..." That was from a book called "The Tightrope Walker" and I can't remember who wrote it, but I loved the book!
I think this illustrates that saying beautifully! I admire that tree's tenacity, for sure!
It may be a good time to set up a roadie for me to the Keystone State. Please email me when you have a chance. It may be a good time to set up a roadie for me to the Keystone State.
Will do; the legal battle continues against the placement of a Wind Farm on the mountain ridge up the slope from my little Pocono house. Hopefully, before the onset of fall colors, the issue will be resolved in the favor of property owners.
I will keep you apprised and, in the meantime, we can set some tentative dates for your visit.
Although I have never been to the Grand Canyon, I have seen a junior Grand Canyon on the island of Kuiai (sp?) that is smaller but similar. Your photo makes me think of the lone pine on 17 Mile Drive, or The West Wind by Tom Thomson.
More to come!
