Germany’s Merkel says Iran violating UN missile regulations

Germany’s Merkel says Iran violating UN missile regulations

By Benjamin Weinthal, Jerusalem Post, July 7

German intelligence: Iran seeks illegal nuclear technology.

BERLIN: German Chancellor Angela Merkel stated on Thursday that Iran has run afoul of UN Security Council regulations to stop its illicit military rocket program. Her comments follow a startling report from Germany’s domestic intelligence agency, which stated  in its late June report that Iran has continued to seek  illegal nuclear technology.

Chancellor Angel Merkel said in the Bundestag Iran "continued unabated  to develop its rocket program in conflict with the relevant provisions of the UN Security Council.”

Merkel said that NATO's  anti-missile system targets Iran's rocket program and was "developed purely for defense."

A defensive missile shield is in place in Romania and a second shield is set to be deployed in Poland. The NATO
anti-rocket systems have created tensions with Russia's leader Vladimir Putin.

Germany's  intelligence agency, the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution, said in the report, that Iran's ” illegal proliferation-sensitive procurement activities in Germany registered by the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution persisted in 2015 at what is, even by international standards, a quantitatively high level. This holds true in particular with regard to items which can be used in the field of nuclear technology.”

The report noted “a further increase in the already considerable procurement efforts in connection with Iran's ambitious missile technology program which could, among other things, potentially serve to deliver nuclear weapons. Against this backdrop it is safe to expect that Iran will continue it sensitive procurement activities in Germany using clandestine methods to achieve its objectives.”

Tod ya so.

But of course Iran can be trusted to comply with the "nuke deal", right?

I'm not surprised. Another diplomatic failure. Iran can't be trusted.

'Bama, 'Bama you're so fine, you said Iran should toe the line...

O-bama! O-bama!

'Bama, 'Bama we're not blind, we should hand out more than a fine...

O-bama! O-bama!

Well, as I said before, since most people have blinded themselves to this, the kids should start practising hiding under their desks again. At least Israel takes it seriously.

This might be the most easily predicted occurrence ever.

No surprise, really :-(

As much as I'd like to blame Obama for this fiasco I am aware of the economic motivations for forming a treaty with Iran . If anyone is interested I can post the details ...

Often in online discussions participants get very theoretical & very "idealistic"-- but their idea are often out of sync with the way it is in the real world. Here's another recent event that may surprise people-- but practical realities over-rode dogma.

There is nothing idealistic about the huge boon that trade with Iran would be to the Boeing Corporation ... but you don't seem to be interested in the details .

BTW a large amount of the money Iran will now have will go to the Lebanese terror group Hezb'Allah-- who are now mostly fighting in Syria alongside Russian troops there--to prop up the barbaric Syrian dictator Assad.

What money? The multi-billions of dollars to be released to Iran as part of Obama's famous nuke deal. Money that will be used to fund Hezbollah, Hamas, and other terrorist groups that are Iran's proxies. You've heard of Iran? "Death to America" Iran? "Death to the Zionist regime" Iran?  Humiliate American sailors Iran? Complicity in the Argentina bombing Iran? Bomb the Beirut American barracks Iran? Invade the American Embassy Iran?  Keep the American embassy staff hostage Iran? Have you heard of them, Petey? Do you trust them, Petey?

I understand your antagonism to Iran . But that does not go into details about what money will be granted to Iran because of the easing of sanctions . And as I said elsewhere Obama is trying to get an agreement with Iran for them to purchase a very large order of airliners from Boeing . Would you like a link ?

The other members of the negotiating coalition also had their eye on Iranian's new found purchasing power, so I'm not surprised that all the greedy western countries are more concerned with trying to make money rather than their own, or certainly Israel's, security. So be it. It's really smart to make business deals with a county whose religion authorizes them to lie, cheat and steal if it's for their benefit.

Do you think they will renege on the agreement to purchase US made airliners ?

I wasn't talking about an airplane purchase, I was talking about the nuclear deal. Iran  will do what is good for Iran and IMO will renege on what ISN'T good for them. They haven't even signed the deal yet.
