Is your Cat This Smart?
Four men were bragging about how smart their cats were.
The first man was an Engineer,
The second man was an Accountant,
The third man was a Chemist, and
The fourth man was a Government Employee.
To show off, the Engineer called his cat, "T-square, do your stuff."
T-square pranced over to the desk, took out some paper and pen and promptly drew a circle, a square, and a triangle.
Everyone agreed that was pretty smart.
But the Accountant said his cat could do better. He called his cat and said,
"Spreadsheet, do your stuff."
Spreadsheet went out to the kitchen and returned with a dozen cookies. He divided them into 4 equal piles of 3 cookies.
Everyone agreed that was good.
But the Chemist said his cat could do better. He called his cat and said, "Measure, do your stuff."
Measure got up, walked to the fridge, took out a quart of milk, got a 10 ounce glass from the cupboard and poured exactly 8 ounces into the glass without spilling a drop.
Everyone agreed that was pretty good.
Then the three men turned to the Government Employee and said, "What can your cat do?"
The Government Employee called his cat and said, "CoffeeBreak, do your stuff."
CoffeeBreak jumped to his feet.......
Ate the cookies........
Drank the milk.....
Shit on the paper.......
Screwed the other three cats........
Claimed he injured his back while doing so.
Filed a grievance report for unsafe working conditions........
Put in for Workers Compensation...................and
Went home for the rest of the week on sick leave......

Hilarious- thanks for sharing such a cute story!
Toby allowed us to share a house with her for a little over 15 years and she was quite smart and adept at getting her own way.
A couple of examples -
We had a coffee pot with a timer on it and when the red light came on the coffee, with a clicking noise, Toby would begin to touch my wife's nose with her paw until she got up and prepared the morning feast/
Toby also liked to ride in the car and would crawl into her cage and go to sleep, never leaving the cageso long as you did not latch the door. If the door was latched and she could not get out, she would wail as if her tail was caught in the fan belt. She didn't want to roam about the car, but wanted the option in case she changed her mind or a mouse showed up I guess
R W
We were as over protective and spoiling in taking care of Toby as we were with our three boys, though they say Toby got treated better - go figure.
"She who must be obeyed" !!
R W
Toby was the same way, she expected someone to scratch her head on demand, the exact duration to be determined on a case by case basis - she would bite your hand when she the time limit was reached or if you tried to quit early.
Well...hmmph....how dare you!!! You have some nerve!!!
My Booty Boots has special mouse catching skills.....abd Precious and Booty Boots like power tools....
hmm Sounds like a couple of Divas!
LOL, good one RW.
Lets not forget sugar and socks like to go camping....
LOL That must be a sight to behold!!

Molly (the baby at barely 2) went into the pool for a cooling dip and is now snoozing alongside of my desk.
TGD I wish you would post some pic's of your fur babies, I have 2 shih Tzus...
My smart cat story goes way back to 1974 Christmas when my wife to be and I travelled to England and Wales on a two week vacation. The day we were to go we let the cat out as usual as he always returned forthwith, except this time he didn't. We had to leave and were frantic, covered the whole neighbourhood, spoke to our vet whose office was around the corner and finally spoke to our immediate neighbours asking them that if they saw him to take him to the vet who would board him. It was cold with snow on the ground and our whole trip had a cloud over it just thinking about our beloved cat. Two weeks later we returned in the afternoon, inquired at the vet, asked the neighbours who told us they did see him once in a while but could not catch him, and so that night we went to bed very depressed. Early the next morning I got up to make breakfast and when in the kitchen I heard a "meow" at the kitchen door, opened it, and there was our cat, a little fatter than before, and he ran right to where his bowls were always put. So obviously our cat was smart enough to survive the Canadian winter for two weeks entirely on his own.
I love stories with happy endings....
This is the only one I have available on my laptop here. The grey one is Harry and the white one using him as a pillow is Sally. This was several years ago. You see I have to get some rechargeable batteries because my camera eats regular ones after only a few pictures.
So, Randy, When did Harry meet Sally?
Well, Harry is 12 and was about 2 when we decided to get him a companion. So we got Sally. Harry was a rescue so was already 10 months old when we got him, but Sally was just weaned from her mommy when we got her. Harry didn't know what to make of her. As soon as she hit the floor she took complete charge. This little tiny puppy telling the older dog what the new rules were and he went along. She took over the food and water dishes, though she did let him eat and drink. she made his dog bed hers and he was stuck with the small one we bought for her. It became her apartment and should be lucky that she let the rest of us live there.
Actually they love each other and even made us a litter of beautiful puppies.
Now I understand why Harry was the pillow. Ah, so reflective of human life.
TGD Aawwww "When Harry Met Sally" They are so cute! Thanks for posting the pic.
T G D That sounds similar to my shih Tzus. WE had Bindi first, then when she was about 2 we got Beaumont. We were concerned how Bindi would re act to another dog, but, there was no problem. (because Beaumont "obeys" her) Bindi even cleans Beauumont's ears and eyes. Bindi is 9 and Beaumont is 7. They get along fine.....
