Incredibly Expressive Animal Portraits
The reason behind this is simple: her photos capture something of an animals soul that many wildlife photographs simply miss. Theyre portraits, not photographs. With a few exceptions, each image captures an expression, connection, or candid moment that speaks volumes.
Its for this reason that I chose the word expressive for the title then I read Manuelas bio:
With my pictures I want to bring the beauty and expressiveness of animals into the foreground, showing that sentient beings are hidden behind them (regardless of where they live or where the pictures were taken). Our fellow creatures feel pleasure and affection as well as fear and sadness. I love nature and I just want to protect them. For me, my photos are currently the most effective means to make it clear how important the environment isevery contribution, even the smallest, can ensure the survival of our fantastic fellow creatures and our environment!
Yeah Id say shes definitely fulfilling her goal! Here are 23 of our personal favorite photos from her wonderful portfolio:

Wow. I don't know what kind of monkey it is, but its eyes tell of so much sorrow!!! These are very special, and I'm so glad you shared them with us.
Yes, I'd say she captured a part of their souls... In a good way!
Yeah, that owl and I look quite a bit alike this morning... Going on 4 weeks with allergies and sinus, and now, getting an ear infection, I think. That is exactly how I feel this morning!
Wow. I don't know what kind of monkey it is, but its eyes tell of so much sorrow!!! Dowser...definitely captured it's sorrow.
Dowser I hope you are feeling better real soon and I am sure you exaggerate your resemblance, however temporary to brother owl.

Now that you mention it that expression does sort say "You're Kidding Right?"

Good point that could leave a stain and probably a dent as well!
LOL Or eat the paint off of the car!!!
These animal's eyes speak volumes!!
That's right, it's always the eyes and how surprisingly expressive and even human they are.
