My Sincere and Deepest Apologies

I regret to acknowledge that I have no images that equivocate, attack or insult viewers or otherwise disparage individuals, groups or ideologies.

Possibly that explains why it gets lonely on this side of the site.

Apologies in advance for the following …

There is never a need to be sorry for such beauty Mac.

Well done.

There is never a need to be sorry for such beauty Mac.

But images of beauty in Nature are so Pro-Environment … so metaphorically liberal … so spiritual without reliance on religiosity …

… where did I go wrong?

Sorry for what?  Hey this is the pit stop of beauty.  You know we could be changing tires, but this is like a scenic pit stop off the well beaten track!!!

By the way, those are absolutely beautiful!!!

Sorry for what?  Hey this is the pit stop of beauty.

I was just really feeling sorry that there is so little apparent gravitation to beauty and so much to combative, acrimonious, mostly unfounded discord.

But thanks, Six.

I absolutely love the first one, and "just" love the second one.  Sorry!

I absolutely love the first one, and "just" love the second one.  Sorry!

And I absolutely love that you love the first one and terribly apologetic that you merely love the second one.

And I just posted a third image … ohoohhhh … when will this ever end?

No need to be sorry, Mac. But if you are going to be sorry, it's nice that you do it with beautiful photos.

Mac - I'm not quite convinced that you're truly that sorry.  Perhaps if you post some additional photos it will give me more evidence to consider.  chuckle

Beautiful photos Mac - I always try and stop by even though I may not leave a comment.  Sometimes I feel like I'm repeating my praises or my words are not adequate.  You have a wonderful talent.

I will seriously consider that idea; but there is the strong possibility (based on empirical evidence and repeated incidents), that by COPYING ANS PASTING my images, some will object on such conveyancing.*

* Although I often wonder whether such objections are to the conveyancing process of cutting and pasting, or instead, to the factual nature of the contents therein.

What to do.

Maybe I'll just copy and paste a tiny sliver of each image.

I'll get back to you on that.

Well, all right … let's shake the proverbial "tree" and see what falls out.

Oops … sorry … got the entire tree.

I posted one similar to this about a week ago … but that tree was in the Grand Canyon … this tree is in a thicket in the Pocono Mountains. I am deeply sorry for the near-redundancy.

Next picture will be different, I promise.

These are gorgeous images!  I'm afraid that I'll be disappointed if I ever get out from under the light pollution and see real stars...

I love these, both of them!

No need to be sorry, at all, for posting such beauty!  Those that prefer the "snark" have plenty to choose from-- these are fabulous and give us all an opportunity to take a deep breath!  Thank you!

I'm afraid that I'll be disappointed if I ever get out from under the light pollution and see real stars...

No way!

Last Saturday night in the Poconos, above the road by my house, where light pollution in virtually nil, I took my dog Gracie for our "before-bedtime" walk. The road is the last one on a mountain slope (the ridge atop which would be the location of 40, 525' tall wind turbines should we lose the legal battle). The slope is covered by dense forest and there is just enough clearing in the forest canopy above the road, to see the milky way, zodiac constellations, both Dippers and the Perseus meteor showers in August.

I take a "doggy" bag and a small, powerful flashlight on those walks -- that way I can pick up any Gracie-droppings -- and, I can see the road which has no street lights. I always shine the flashlight into the woods along the road as we walk, and last Saturday night, I saw EYES!

Could have been a deer, a black bear or a raccoon, coyote, I don't think Mountain Lion, although some say there are some still in the area. Between the eyes, which I saw just momentarily, and the stars, it was a sublime experience! And although I was a bit concerned about shaking hands with a 400 pound bear on a dark, mountain road, I nevertheless continued looking at the incredible view above … intermittently, of course.

And this coming Saturday, damned if I don't wish to repeat last Saturday's adventure. God willing, Gracie and I will be "On the Road Again," Dowser … and I wish that you and a bunch of NT people who mean a lot to me could come along … although that might frighten the critters. It'd be worth it though to have some of you there … and you all know who you are.

You know I love you, right?  If you don't, then I do...  I love you very much and would love to join you and dear Gracie!  Unfortunately, my son's band is hosting a band competition at the high school, and I'll be stuck under the lights of a stadium...  I'll be driving the tired, aged, and infirm people, and the judges, back and forth in a golf cart.  I hope!  I'm not up for standing much...

Someday...  A dream, dear A. Mac-- a dream!

It used to be that we could drive the 45 minutes out to Taylorsville Lake to see the stars, but it has become so light polluted, that we have to drive 3 hours to Land Between the Lakes to see the Milky Way...  We also had an exit off of I64 where we could see the stars, but they built a HUGE gas station, and giant lights, and now, you can't see doodley.  Still looking for an observation spot a little closer to home...

Much love to you, dear friend!

Thanks, Bob.

Of course, you know that my headline and premise is to, by way of mockery, mock those who mock others on style, presentation and, who go the ad hominem route rather than addressing and rebutting content with counter-content.

And I confess, that such a headline, sadly, is an attention-grabber intended to get members to spend some time away from the vitriol.

Thank you, Buzz. I'm trying to push the proverbial "envelope" … I'll hit the speed bumps for sure … that's when I take a walk or go fishing.
