The Best Road Trip Movie Ever

What is the best Road Trip movie ever made?

USA Today offered these possibilities -

National Lampoon Vacation

Thelma and Louise

Dumb and Dumber

Sideways

Beavis and Butthead Do America

http://experience.usatoday.com/america/story/road-trips/2015/06/08/50-unique-stops-in-all-50-states/24326329/

What say you, one of these choices or another movie?

My choiceis not on the list

Though I thoroughly enjoyed Thelma and Louise, the best road trip movie ever for me will always be Easy Rider

MPW-7539

I also remember enjoying the "On the Road to ...." movies with Bing Crosby and Bob Hope as being thoroughly enjoyable

What is your favorite? One on the list or throw out another

The original Death Race 2000 was another humdinger.

HA!

Great drive-in movie fare, Dean.

70's version of "The Hunger Games". Lol

"Welcome to the Transcontinental Road Race. The following scores, (pedestrians run over by the competing driversas they race),have been issued by our very own Mr. President for this historic year 2000 Road Race...

...teenagers, forty points...
...toddlers, seventy points...
...seniors, one hundred points...

...and for all you lucky ladies out there, a racer will receive an additional ten points for every woman scored... and the race committee wishes to remind you all that any score is a good score!"

Sideways is my favorite. There's more to the movie than the road trip, but much of it takes place on the road. The movie is great, but book is even better.

Does Smokey and the bandit count as a road trip movie?

It is one of my favorite movies of all time and that was a hell of a road trip in both directions in my opinion.

So hell yeah!

Good catch and addition to the list!

I agree with both of you that Easy Rider was the best.

As for RV - Robin Williams made any movie he was in a good one. Before I came here I pondered with the concept of buying an RV and travelling around North America.

Well it does have a lot going for it RIO.

Chessy script, massive amounts of gratuitous, bloody violence and staring David Carradine, at a time he still carried the sheen of Kwai Chang Caine from his "Kung Fu" days.

How could you go wrong. :-)

A H

Well it is a only a movie

If all movies that are cheesy or have gratuitous violence were taken away there would not be a lot of recent movies left to watch.

Thanks for the feedback
