Headed to the Mountains in Search of Fall Foliage

In most years, the beginning of fall foliage colors is around now … Red and Sugar Maples should start turning … and, of course, if there are any good shots to be had, I will share them on Sunday night coming up.

Since my internet connection in the Poconos is sporadic and agonizingly slow, I will leave you with a new fantasy image.

Let your eyes follow the fence into the image then curve around the tree-lined meadow.

Just try not to be drawn in … try … I dare you.

And then, just follow the leading lines and enjoy the starry meadow.

Good night to all and peace to all … friends, not-so-much friends … to ALL ON THE NEWSTALKERS.

Thanks, AMac. Walking in the woods here, is much the same. Broadleaf and Vine Maples, Alders, and Cottonwoods, all shedding leaves.

Mac,

I think I am going to have to purchase that one from you. It has to be one of my favorites of all time! There is a scene in "Shawshank Redemption", where Red goes looking for a buried box in a field, left by his friend. It reminds me of that scene.

The oak tree which was near the box Red was seeking is no longer there. It has been blown over by a strong wind.

I know the scene well!

As for purchasing this one … as per Shawshank and Andy Dufraine … parphrasing …

"You better get busy livin' or get busy BUYIN' …"

But NO; I don't take money from friends. Go to the link, see what option you like, let me know and I will order it and send it as a gift to a special friend.

Wish I were there, wandering down the lane...  With you and Gracie!

Truly lovely and intriguing picture!

That would enhance the walk greatly!

It would for me!  Gracie would likely get impatient with me, as I'm very slow these days...

Love you!

Not really. Just to the right of the scene and down a steep slope (Creek Road) … is a creek (who'd thunk it?).

I took the original shot of the scene yesterday … in addition to my camera, I had my fly rod … as I walked along the road, I would stop frequently, at times to take pictures, at times, to cast one of the fly patterns I tie (a foam grasshopper imitation) to pools in the stream.

So, about 30 pictures and 5 sunfish both slowed the outing and simultaneously made it just perfect!

Sorry you and other good friends on NT couldn't be there.

Have a wonderful time, AMac, and bring back lots of lovely photos, like the one above.   I am sure I'll find several more "favorites".

Have a wonderful time, AMac,

Thanks, KatPen … the Wind Turbine issue and the closure of the dam/lake has put something of a pall over my "happy place" … hopefully all will be resolved by next Spring.

I sure hope so, too, AMac!   I would really hate for you to lose it, too.  There's no place for peace and beauty like the forest.  Best of luck with that situation.

Headed to the Family Place on the Lake in the Adirondacks this afternoon to spend the weekend closing the place up for the winter.  Should be some great foliage shots available there.  Have fun and I look forward to seeing your work.

Only been to the Adirondacks once and too quickly to take pictures … do, if you get some pix this weekend, I love to see them.

I'll have to try and post them from my laptop at home, I have very limited options on this computer due to firewall and other issues......and posting pictures, doesn't even have show a link here.

If you e-mail them to me, maybe I can post them for you.

Let's look at that possibility after the weekend.

Sounds good, though I think it might work from the other computer.  We'll know by Tuesday for sure.
