Did Someone Say "SNOW"?
On another thread (Spikegary's Adirondack Discussion) … a very good one if you have yet to see it … go there now …

… someone mentioned "snow".
Being one of may favorite photo subjects, I thought I'd post one.

Leave the snow shovels … bring a friend.
The photo reminds of this quote..
"But love of the wilderness is more than a hunger for what is always beyond reach; it is also an expression of loyalty to the earth which bore us and sustains us, the only home we shall ever know, the only paradise we ever need - if only we had eyes to see."
"the only paradise we ever need - if only we had eyes to see."
Years ago (1988), I had occasion to be on a tour, one of the destinations was Muir Woods …
The tour bus stopped in front of the gift shop … AND MOST OF THOSE ON THE TOUR WALKED OFF THE BUS AND INTO THE GIFT SHOP … ignoring the woods!
It saddens me and troubles me that so many people seem to know the price of everything and the VALUE of very little.
"If only we had eyes to see"?
If only we had the presence of mind to use it.
I'm grateful for having grown up in Ontario, and been able to find pleasure in all four seasons. I think those who didn't live where snow fell have missed a part of nature's gifts to mankind.
Minimizing my FP time for as long as I can resist the urge …
But it does get lonely over here.
I'm going to guess that it was a nice, clumpy snow, that clung to the branches, not one of those gully washer snows that just buries everything... Looks beautiful and a peaceful place.
Be careful that no one accuses you of being a snowflake, or crazy. That seems to be the rage these days...
