New Feature Coming Soon ~ "PHOTOSHOP MANIA"
~ PHOTOSHOP-MANIA IN THE CREATIVE ARTS GROUP ~
Here's How it will Work
• Go to the CREATIVE ARTS GROUP
• JOIN the GROUP … it's open to all
• Post a PHOTO (JUST ONE) taken with a camera or cell phone, etc.
• By posting your PHOTO, you are giving permission to have it edited and reposted as a poster, abstract artwork, colorized transformation … who knows what?
• Your edited PHOTO will be reposted in its transformed iteration along with the original
• You can post a PHOTO that needs a SMALL AMOUNT OF RESTORATION, CLEANING, etc., (emphasis on SMALL AMOUNT) … but make it clear that you are requesting restorative work
• IMPORTANT … post your PHOTO IN THE CREATIVE ARTS GROUP COMMENT SECTION AND GIVE THE TRANSFORMATION PROCESS SOME TIME
• Once the TRANSFORMATION IS COMPLETE, IT WILL BE POSTED ALONG WITH THE ORIGINAL IN A CREATIVE ARTS GROUP DISCUSSION/ARTICLE (possibly along with others).
• Photos can be posted at any time (no need to wait for the Thursday/Friday feature)
• ONE PHOTO PER POST PER PERSON • Please wait until your photo has been transformed and reposted before posting another.
It is anticipated that this FEATURE WILL BECOME ACTIVATED ON OR ABOUT JANUARY 30, 2017
(Some changes in the feature may change after it's rolled out)
• There are limitless possibilities … and … there's no way to know in advance what a transformation will look like … but I assure all participants that no photo will be edited in a manner to denigrate its content, nor, its creator.
• Photos need not be "professional," unusual … just nothing tasteless, pornographic, highly personal, and YOU MUST HAVE THE COPYRIGHTS/OWNERSHIP AND THE RIGHT TO POST WHATEVER IMAGE YOU POST.
That's it.

Now this is something I like!!!
I don't think there was a lot of participation unfortunately.
Well you have one!!!
It really takes a long time to separate even the easiest pictures. Like this one for example. Getting all that black from around the edges was hard to do and I still didn't get it just like I wanted to do. I did learn some things though while doing it. First I was trying not to disturb the colors of the edges of the flowers, but it was impossible to get rid of the black unless I did. At 3200 times the size we are looking at it now it really doesn't matter it you intrude on the colors a little. Anyway here is one I did.
You'd think all you had to do would be choose all that black and delete it, but it doesn't work out quite that way. Of course, like I said I'm just learning.
There are "tricks" or techniques you will discover over time … and even once you've discovered them all with regard to a particular objective … it eventually becomes obvious that "you can't get it right until you first get it wrong!"
Your top image is quite good and eventually you'll figure out how to make it perfect.
The bottom picture reveals what happens when the subject's color and tone blend well in one negative space, while not so much in another … in time, you will discover ways to anticipate such outcomes in advance, or, fix them after they appear.
Keep going … you are definitely on your way, Six.
Okay, here's a photo that wasn't good enough to post. It's fuzzy, out of focus, has too much distracting background, and the subject isn't particularly interesting. Let's see what anyone can do to transform this into a photo worth posting.
I'll give it shot after coffee time.
Photos that are that far out of focus are hard to correct, but they can be made into a more abstract image.
Well stated and well-executed, Hal!
You did a FANTASTIC job with that, Hal.
I thought I'd really go for broke with it.
Happy to see this feature/discussion resurrected!
