Bob Dylan Launches Major UK Exhibition - but Who are the Famous Faces Behind These Drawings?
The 74-year-old musical icon has been drawing and painting for years and his work is on show across the UK
Famous faces: But who are the celebrity artists behind them?
Bob Dylan is one of the musical icons of his age.
Yet the Times They Are A-Changing and the 74-year-old singer-songwriter has a new talent on display he is a gifted artist too.
Dylan has been drawing and painting for years the cover of his 1970 album Self Portrait was just that.
But this week he has landed his own major UK exhibition , with examples of his work (mainly signed limited edition prints) on show at 35 different Castle Galleries across the UK, stretching from Edinburgh to Londons Mayfair.
But Dylan is far from the only celebrity to have tried their hand at a bit of artwork.
From rock royalty to real royalty, movie idols to politicians, it seems everyone thinks theyre the next Matisse or Picasso.
And while we all know them by their day job, can you tell which famous face is behind these would-be masterpieces?
See if you can guess - the answers are at the bottom
1. Liverpudlian muso
PA Muso: But who is the artist?
This Liverpudlian muso, 72, made his name in one of the world's most famous pop groups, but even after working a Hard Day's Night in his day job, he's still a dab hand at painting.
2. Hollywood megastar
Rex Hollywood megastar: But which one?
Painted on the sly, this brightly coloured abstract shows wheel talent.
The hand behind the brush belongs to a 68-year-old Hollywood action movie star.
3. Live and let die
Rex Painting: She's also handy with a stethoscope
This former Live and Let Die Bond girl went on to play one of the most famous women doctors on 1990s TV.
But the 64-year-old is just as handy with a paintbrush as she is with a stethoscope.
4. Welsh wonder
Rex Would go well with a glass of Chianti
You can just imagine this movie star with a brush in one hand and a nice glass of Chianti in the other - plus a few fava beans to nibble on, of course.
As you can see, this 77-year-old Welshman, who won an Oscar for playing a doctor with a unique bedside manner, has an art collection as impressive as his glittering film career.
5. Texan titan
Getty By George: Who painted this?
By George! These artworks are almost as terrible as his eight years in office.
But no one was going to to say no to this 68-year-old US politician when, last year, he wanted to show his portraits of world leaders in the Presidential Library in Texas.
If only someone could have.
6. Regal brushstrokes
Getty Regal: But who is the artist?
He could have made a proper Charlie out of himself when he tried his hand at art.
But as these rather regal watercolours show, this 66-year-old is just as interested in painting as he is in agriculture, architecture, ecology and not to mention his rather important family, whove been painted more than a few times themselves.
7. Out of this world
WireImage Out of this world: But painted by whom?
This singer-turned-painter has an out-of-this-world talent, even if spacially theres a few oddities.
We bet any art collector would be Hunky Dory to have one of 68-year-olds creations on their walls...
8. Crooning charmer
Getty Crooner: Who held the brush?
His passion for painting stretches back almost as far as his singing career - and after 66 years in the business thats pretty impressive.
Now aged 88, the crooner has displayed his creations in various locations around the US... but hes most famous for leaving his art in San Francisco.
9. Dark and sinister
WireImage Dark: But who is behind this painting?
The dark and sinister imagery of his artwork should give away the identity of this boundary-pushing US musician.
Now 46, the artist formerly known as Brian has always shocked with his personal image and music, so its small wonder his paintings do the same.
10 Swashbuckler
Adventurer: Can you guess who painted this?
As his most famous swashbuckling character, were used to seeing this 51-year-old brandishing a sword.
But as you can see hes just as adventurous with a paintbrush.
The would-be artist didnt go far for inspiration however - the subject of this portrait, Rolling Stones star Keith Richards, had a cameo in one of his most famous films.

Some of the subjects of the paintings are obvious, while others are not
But they are all amazing

You are absolutely right with that observation.
I remember the same thing about his music, so it may be that his creative come out differently depending on where he is at mood wise
Thanks for the feedback
Self-portrait of one who has been a painter as long as she has been a singer-songwriter.
An interesting range of styles.
One of the faces would be, ''Echo Star Helstrom''...
Buzz, it's Joni Mitchell.
Yes Kavika, I was the first person to meet her when she came from Saskatchewan to Toronto for the first time to see the 1964 Mariposa Folk Festival. We sat together all that night in a rooming house on Madison Avenue near the U of T while she serenaded me with her songs. We were friends for many years.
Good story Buzz, being serenaded by Joni would be a delight.
Wow
That would have been great
I love her music
A Mac
Thanks for the feedback and I got to agree with that assessment
johnny Depp for Keith Richards. I love the Joni Mitchell painting and the lady by the sea.
Six
Glad you liked them
The different moods of the artist apparent in the different paintings was the attention grabber for me
And of course the subjects!
