Yep, really cool. Levi hasn't been here since Thursday though. I'll be sure to bring it up for him when he gets here tomorrow. Since his oldest sister will be in school all day and his other sister and brother are at their mother's house this week, that means that grandma and I have him outnumbered 2-1. That means that we should, just barely, be able to keep up with him.
The only butterflies I get to see are almost colourless. I miss the Monarchs and all the other beautiful ones. Thanks to A.Mac for providing the reminders of those I used to enjoy watching in Canada.
Your butterfly is, in fact, a Tiger Swallowtail, and, if the distraction you refer to is in the second butterfly image, I looked at it again, and I agree … I will take it down tomorrow and see if I can do a better job.
I appreciate all input, positive or negative, so, I thank you.
Thanks to Steve Ott for calling to my attention an image I posted yesterday … as having a "distracting" area.
It is sometimes difficult to be objective of one's own work, so, when honest criticism is given, it is wise to accept it and make corrections where needed.
I have deleted yesterday's image of a Common Buckeye Butterfly and replaced it with another. Please check the new, second image above.
Keeping it civil and natural.
Beautiful photo...The colors are so vibrant, love it.
I am so ready to see butterflies again! Thanks for this fabulous picture!
Butterflies are good. We now have buds on the trees. In a week, they'll be Maple leaves. That means Spring is here, only one or two blizzards left.
Love the treatment on those shots Mac.
Thanks, TTGA,
Did you see the TRAIN I posted for Levi?

Thank you !
Posted another.
Yes, they are both beauties!
Two beauties.
More tomorrow.
They are beautiful! No butterflies down here this time of year. Lots of Hummingbirds though.
We had a hummingbird feeder at our lakeside cottage, and I never tired of watching them.
This is the only shot I have ever gotten of a butterfly. I think it is a swallowtail. This was from when we lived in Northern New Mexico.
I like your butterfly A Mac, but the light from the upper left is distracting for me.

A Tiger Swallowtail. Cool!.
As for the light, it is what it is at the time. It just seemed to wash out the left side of the butterfly.
Steve,
Really good shot! Well done!

If you haven't seen the new Common Buckeye image … now would be a good time.
Great shots Mac! Butterflies are a difficult subject to pin down. Maybe only harder are hummingbirds and chipmunks.
Beautiful shots Mac. You know I LOVE butterflies. These should be on the front of greeting cards. Thanks for sharing these beauties.
Nicely done A Mac. Doesn't look so common now!
