An alternative religion 4 U: The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster!

fsm.jpg

Another parody religion,  The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster  (FSM), whose followers are referred to as Pastafarians, chooses to “believe” that the world was created by a deity known as the Flying Spaghetti Monster.   A response to the teaching of Creationism and Intelligent Design in our public schools, the idea behind  FSM  is that if one religion can be taught in schools, why not all religions, no matter how ridiculous?   Pastafarians are generally thought to be the coolest people in the world.

We Believe an all-mighty Flying Spaghetti Monster alters the universe in a way that makes it * appear * that the scientific method is sound, that humanity’s knowledge and its advancement out of caves and into spaceships is a direct result of this process. It appears that we can deductively infer conclusions through experiment and reason.

We can’t fault Scientists who have not yet seen the Light – they are doing their jobs, and they are intellectually honest. The same can not be said for some groups, including many groups who have a Belief structure that stems from faith.

So why is Pastafarianism correct, when it sometimes contradicts reason? Because the FSM says so, and we Believe 1 .

1. Circular Logic is allowed in religion.

Note — the FSM was spotted in Greenville, North Carolina —  article here .

Dear Friends Hal and Randy: Levity aside, I personally do not want Creationism taught in science classes any more than evolution preached from the pulpit at Services.

To each according to their strengths, from each according to what they contribute for the greater good.

The Founding Fathers saw what havoc was wrought in Europe for thousands of years. They wisely wanted religion and government to be separated.

Each free within their own spheres to do as they will.

All citizens free to choose how to use or abstain from each according to their best judgements.

This goes for keeping political messages out of tax exempt preaching for me as well.

I hope you and yours both are enjoying a fine spring.

Peace and Abundant Blessings.

Enoch.

FSM is an old, tired, worn out theme. Wasn't that clever or funny to begin with either.

Neither is your God.

Here's my new philosophy:

1. My god is better than you're god (& that applies to some of the more strongly evangelical Fundamentalist Atheists as well, BTW).

2. If you question my god (which ever one I happen to be believing in at the time) I will have a serious discussion on the subject-- I will do this by launching personal attacks against you! Which proves how smart I am.

3. If you question any of my beliefs, you are obviously a racist (even if the subject isn't about race...LOL).

Well John-- it looks like you've "taken a leaf out of" Trump's notebook.

(Whenever SNL mocks him, rather than addressing the actual criticism, he instead attempts to derail the discussion by attacking SNL as being a mediocre show, saying no one watches them anymore, that their jokes aren't funny, etc).

Whoopde doo.

If my sense of humor was as deformed as Trump's is ,  I'd beat myself to death with a strand of spaghetti.

FSM was passe 10 years ago.

Maybe John, but for the last few days this has been just about the only article on the FP worth commenting on. Yes I have commented on a very few good ones, but overall the FP had been crap lately. Most of the FP has been the same old, worn out themes.
