One of this morning's shots taken with my new Nikon 200-500mm lens.

Rose-breasted Grosbeak, Male
Good night … more tomorrow,
What a fantastic photo! It's a shame more have not noticed it. If only so many of the NT members could pull their heads out of the political mire they would discover that there is more to life than American presidential politics.
Thanks for that, Buzz.
What focal length did you set for those shots?
460mm
Did you use a tripod? I can't imagine hand-holding a camera steady enough using that focal length.
The lens is heavy but nicely balanced and at 800 ISO, f5.6, on the Nikon D500, I shot 10 frames per second at 1/500 sec per frame.
No tripod ... Vibration Reduction, continuous auto focus with a 25 sector focal group.
Posted a second shot taken with the new lens … a Rose-breasted Grosbeak.
Fantastic shots Mac. Thank you!
Wonderful photos Mac.
Well done.
OMG.. those are amazing shots Mac. I love your birdies. Great lens (and photographer).
Beautifully done!
First thing I thought was "How sharp!" Great shots, as usual.
