Yesterday I found a trail in the woods ...  somewhat steep, narrow ... maybe ten feet wide as far down as I could see before it took a bend ... and lined on both sides with Rhododendron at least ten feet tall or taller.

Today I went back, intrigued by how the thought of descending it alone was both intimidating and compelling.

Knowing the area generally, I am certain that at the low point of the trail, there is a stream and it must certainly hold wild Brook Trout!

BUT ... I think it would be unwise to descend the trail by myself ... I considered it but when I checked my cell phone, it said "no service".

I will undoubtedly go back to that trail head and probably limit myself as to how far down below the bend I walk ... I will definitely take pictures and share them here ... but I won't be in the Poconos until after Labor Day, so it won't be until early September.

I cannot get the trail out of my mind.

We'll see.
