More Adirondack Beauty
I hope you don't get tired of my photos, I enjoy taking them and I enjoy sharing them with anyone-the place is where I go to download and jettison stress.
Known as 'Fish Hatchery Pond' has a man made dam holding the water-this is the main tributary to the lake my family's place is on.
Another view of Fish Hatchery Pond
A different view of our lake, from the road, a few hundred yards farther in from our place.
A flower on our retaining wall
The House on the Hill
Even the weeds. Beauty can be found anywhere, if you look.
Be at Peace.
There was another severe rain storm sometime between July 4th and this past weekend. Washed out the driveway, again, working on putting in a driveway version of drain tile. Docks were askew, but we were able to reset them ourselves. No floods, at least this time around. Was a great short week. Wanted to stay.
I think I have some more photos around, will have to find them.....
Great photos Spike. Keep'em coming.
I'll be back there in a few weeks. It is a fairly certain conclusion to come to that I will take more pix. Did you notice, if you look closely, that some of the trees are already showing fall color? Been a fairly cold 'Dog Days' of summer.
All beautiful, Gary. My favorite is the 2nd one. Gorgeous! Nature's art.
Glad you liked them. The 2nd one-I was trying to catch the reflection perfectly mirrored in the pond. If done right, it's hard to tell which side is up. Hard to do, need perfect calm and positioning-I took these with my smart phone. Used to do it with a 35mm, was tough getting the dimensions 'just right'.
Literally and figuratively "A BREATH OF FRESH AIR" in the midst of so much acrimony!
Thanks, Spike … you have inspired me to post an article and will do so shortly.
I was wondering if you were going to make it over here.....I posted another one about clouds and sky. Also, I updated the one from right after the 4th with pictures of where the water is supposed to be.
Get TIRED of your photos??? You've got to be kidding. The nostalgia and memories of my chalet on the lake are rekindled by them - they take me back there in my mind's eye. Thank you.
Thank you, Buzz, it's nice to get some positive feedback. Unfortunately these stories seem to disappear under the pile of 'the _________ (insert your favorite whipping horse) sucks, and I'll tell you why' kind of story we see so much of.
I'm glad the photos bring back good memories for you. I will keep on....
Probably some of the happiest, most relaxing, most just "feeliing good" days of my adult life.
