Sometimes I post something and it seems like it didn't appear-- so I try again. But it actually did post the first time-- the Internet (or this site, or my connection) was slow.
Or-- sometimes I post something, it appears on the front page, Then I decide to change the title and re-post it-- so it looks like 2 separate posts but both are actually the same one with different titles (the original one and then the same one with a new title). Actually I think that's what happened in this case...
Tonight I am bored with the usual political pettiness that appears so often on NT, so I am searchig for something different...much of which is trivial, but occasionally amusing.
Also I suspect a lot of this stuff is posted by Millennials (on Instagram or other social media, , so for me its interesting to see how they think...
I really hope it does. I'm getting bored with Trump and Politics and religion and wish more new members would start to show more diversified interests.
Here's an article by Spikegary that may be of interest (actually the comments are worth a read IMO):
So, We Have Lots Of New Folks Here, Let's Get To Know Each Other
We have lots of new folks showing up from Newsvine. Some are here for a similar experience as Newsvine (it is different and run differently). Those of us that have been here for a while should welcome these new folks. Back in the Day, a friend of mine, on Newsvine, started a group called '10 things About You'.
This might be a good way to start to get to know each other. I would ask that we keep this civil and as non-political as possible. Please feel free to jump in......who knows, you might make some new friends.

I feel the same way.
But most people on the Internet never will-- most come online mainly to get into arguments or to prostelytize their political POV or religious/Atheist POV.
I couldn't open the first and third links, probably because they were google links. For me to see them you can't just link them, you would have to copy and paste them, or save and post them as pictures.
I just posted the images-- for you. So you could see them.
But I didn't post the links to the discussion for you. Rather, it was for anyone else who might see my comments and who might be interested in the original discussion where those images were originally posted.
(I don't care tha tmuch, but my preference would be to have comments aboutthem on the original seed rasther than here-- to draw attention to those seeds).
Logic or . . . ???
Quiz:
Q: How many times is it necessary to post the exact same thing?
A: ?
Did this appear twice?

You fixed it.
Yes.

And sometimes I post somewhat bizarre cartoons such as these (a different sense of humor than most people have I admit):
(Kliban) Freud's First Slip
Bigotry In Action (Kliban)
What Do You Girls Do For Kicks? (Kliban)
Or something controversial:
5 Scientifically Supported Benefits Of Prayer
And this is an important concept for understanding one of the causes of all the nonsense in online political discussions:
What Is "Confirmation Bias"?
One of my few successful posts on NT:
Old Tyme Arcade Games!
Confirmation Bias:
LOL
We already had a convesation on the arcade games article.
Yes.
But there are a lot of new people here from NV (like JBB for example) & I thought that seed might interest them . . .
I really hope it does. I'm getting bored with Trump and Politics and religion and wish more new members would start to show more diversified interests.
Hi JBB!

Not sure which ones you mean-- Freud's Slip and What do You Girls do for Kicks?
Yes, I could open Bigotry in Aciton only.
They are all Kliban cartoons:
1. Freud's First Slip:

You didn't mislead me.
