GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- The long-anticipated opening of the Rhombus Guys Brewing Co. brewpub finally arrived Thursday.

The brewery opened at 4 p.m. Thursday in the historic Metropolitan Opera House, 116 S. Third St. Co-owners Matt Winjum and Arron Hendricks, who also own the Rhombus Guys pizza restaurants, bought the 125-year-old building in 2013 before embarking on the renovation project last fall.

Finally!

After many years of enjoying beer, craft beer especially, that has been bought in a bottle or can,Grand Forks now has it's own Brewpub!

My pulse is pounding! I haven'tbeen yet, working this weekend. But come mondaynightfootball...OH YEAH!

Can't wait!

These fellas also operate Rhombus Guys Pizza up here, hands-down without an argument the best pizza ya can get, here or anywhere (...and yeah, I have had some awesome Chicago and New York pizza) and they present excellent food and drink already, so I have a clue what their beer will be like.

I'llbe updating this article with photos and areview here this next week, so stay tuned!

:~)

Whiteys is still there in part of the original building (since the old one was like 99% destroyed in the '97 flood), as well as a host ofother establishments along the riverfront.

Randy, you truly would not even most likely recognize Grand Forks anymore!

:~)

Probably not. I remember watching the flood on TV and saw the house I rented an upstairs apartment in mostly under water.Grin.gif

LOL! It was in the flat area south of US 2 and North East of downtown and within easy walking distance to the downtown bridge and what was then the Level Seven Bar in East Grand Forks. Perfect 20 to 30 minute stagger back home at closing time. Longer in the winter of course.Grin.gif

Why isn't it in East Grand Forks. Now you going to have to produce a passport to cross into North Dakota. Smile.gif

We shall have to have a beer and pizza next June, Larry.
