A foggy day, but it cleared somewhat
When I looked outside this morning I couldn't see the building next door. Fortunately it wasn't smog like the pollution that blankets Beijing, but Chongqing has a few names, and besides being named The Mountain City, and One of the Three Furnaces of China, it is also known as the Misty City, and this morning provided the proof. Well, by 3 in the afternoon it cleared up enough that it was worth going for a walk, and this time we went to somewhere I had not been before. Only a 20 minute walk from home we went to the reservoir, around which many farmers grow their crops. Here is what I saw today.
1. The farmers find spots on hillsides and wherever to plant. This is beside the dam for the reservoir, seen on the left.
2.

5.
6. The reservoir is beautiful, with the mountains behind (still pretty misty).
7.
8.
9.
10. I can hardly wait for a clear day to see those mountains.
11. Because this is a reservoir for supplying water to our area, there is not supposted to be any fishing or swimming in it, and lo and behold, there was someone swimming at the other end. The temperature today was 55 F, so I imagine the water wasn't particularly warm either.
Perhaps it's better to post photo articles here than on the Creative Arts group.
These farmlands and the reservoir with mountains behind are about a 20 minute walk from where we live.
Buzz, these are wonderful! That #4 looks like it has a multitude of different things growing. You sure that wasn't the Loch Ness Monster going out for it's morning swim? Thanks for posting these photos. You've been busy, busy today.
Whether it was a person or a monster is of no concern to me even if whatever it was pissed in the reservoir, because, although I drank tap water in Canada, I wouldn't even dream of drinking anything but bottled water here.
Neither Donald Trump nor Hillary Clinton have been to this place.
I just know that there is a fish in the 10 lb category just waiting to be caught, in fact I think that I saw it in one of the photos.
Good essay Buzz.
Fishing isn't allowed there, but boy would I love to fish there. You're right, there's bound to be some big ones there.
So beautiful. I could almost feel the chill in the air, overcast and very quiet. I like days like that. The weather is not always sunny just like life.
