Two Josephs No Mary In Nativity Scene
The Roman Catholic Bishop of Providence, Rhode Island expressed outrage on Facebook Tuesday morning after being exposed to a popular Twitter photo showing two pink-clad Josephs kneeling over the Baby Jesus with no Virgin Mary in sight.
According to WPRI , Bishop Thomas Tobin saw the photo — which widely shared after being posted on Twitter by California’s Cameron Esposito — and was not pleased.
While Esposito wrote,” Our neighbors’ two Joseph nativity is up & I’m beaming,” across the country the Catholic priest had another take.
“A Gay Nativity?” Tobin wrote on his Facebook page . “Just came across this photo of a ‘gay nativity’ scene — two Josephs dressed in pink watching over the Christ Child. How sad that someone believes it’s okay (or funny or cool) to impose their own agenda on the holy Birth of Jesus. Pray for those who did so, for their change of heart, and that Jesus will forgive this sacrilege, this attack on the Christian Faith.”
Tobin was not alone in finding the cheeky holiday display upsetting, with some of his followers — and Twitter users — complaining and one stating it encourages “pedophiles.”

A Gay Nativity?
Just came across this photo of a “gay nativity” scene — two Josephs dressed in pink watching over the Christ Child. How sad that someone believes it’s okay (or funny or cool) to impose their own agenda on the holy Birth of Jesus. Pray for those who did so, for their change of heart, and that Jesus will forgive this sacrilege, this attack on the Christian Faith.
I have a couple thoughts about this.
Are the people who put this on the front lawn Christians or Catholics, or are they merely mocking the idea of the traditional Nativity scene?

Although the bishop seems to be prejudiced against gays, he is actually correct when he calls it a 'sacrilege'. Catholic dogma states that Mary is the mother of Jesus , the mother of God. She cannot be replaced with a second Joseph and still have it be a reverent depiction of Jesus birth.
Well, one HAS to wonder which one was the virgin Joseph who gave birth to Jesus.
If that gay nativity scene wasn't a sick joke, it would be laughable.
Whether people like religious dogma, or not, you can't change it. I don't see how the gay nativity can win over anyone, or how they expect to, in this way.
Did you ever consider that it was satire?
I prefer the hipster nativity myself.
