Damned Cold … but Worth the Effort
Among my favorite photo subjects are Snow Scenes in forests and along streams … I find, as I look through my camera viewfinder to set up a picture, the cold doesn't bother me … a form of meditation apparently that allows a temporary blocking out of unwanted, intrusive thoughts and discomfort.
And, when I like what I see after the shutter clicks … I am happy to have frozen my tail off!
Enjoy the view.

No "chill pills" for me when I know there's a few inches of new snow in a nearby woodland stream … I'm there with my camera.
you didn't give me a chance to guess what creek ,
but nice shot man
Sorry about jumping the gun; I will post others and invite you to nail the location.
only kidding
what are the odds of nailing that on my second guess...
Picture perfect! Simply beautiful! Looks like a great place to chill and meditate a bit.
I like to meditate with a fishing pole in my hand, I can spend hours just sitting there waiting for the bite that will never come.
Beautiful as always Mac !! Thanks !!!
Makes me think of a line that Ramblin' Jack Elliott sings at the end of a song:
"Did you ever stand and shiver, when just looking at a river?"
More pix tomorrow; thanks to those who came bye.
Good night.
I'll have to capture some of my dad's photos he took and blew up and had framed.....he specialized in Winter Stream Shots. Many of his framed photos hung in local banks and businesses.....
Always love those photos, yours is no exception.
Would love to see your dad’s photos!
I'll have to see what I can come up with come spring time.......they are mostly at the lake house, though some are at my mom's condo.
