I understand what you mean, too many meetings this week, late evenings, long days, trying to get caught up just to go see the oujida of the day on the front page in my spare time......and that's a waste of my time...plain and simple.....
I had one land on my big toe one day. I was laying out by the pool on base and had bright orange polish on my toes. The butterfly mistook it for a flower. They love the color orange. It stayed there for a minute or two and I just watched it.
You...the master of condescension and sarcasm, talking about civility??
I think you must have misinterpreted the purpose of Amac's contribution. It was meant to foster a bit of positive dialogue in the midst of the mess that we call the FP. You would feel much better about yourself if you added something positive to this thread. You should at least try it. You might find that you like it. Then afterwards, you can go back to the kind of articles and seeds that are more to your liking.
I knew it wasn't the Pennypack, and guessed a stream in the Pocono's before I read the title, but now no one will believe me, damn you Windsor Park Inhabitant !
as I'm guessing it's a stream near you by I M Lakes, and probably flows into Robin Hood Lakes where I spent many a summers day exploring as a tyke
Sandspring Run flows through the State Park and feeds Hickory Run which, with Hayes/Black Creek, Stony Creek, et al, feed the Lehigh Liver in the Gorge.
I frequently get that very gratifying compliment; I am a frustrated painter ever fighting with myself ... my paintings look like photos and my photos look like paintings! Drive myself nuts!
Photos I submit to publishers I keeps “photographic” as publishers prefer to do their own editing; those I market directly to the public, I attempt to make them less like photos since, with the advent of digital cameras and smart phones, almost everyone takes photos that look like ... photos.
my paintings look like photos and my photos look like paintings!
And all of them look like great art. An artist, whether working in paint, sculpture or photography is able to see something exceptional in a scene or person and emphasize that to the viewer. With a little practice and a digital camera, anyone can take reasonably good pictures. What takes an artist is not necessarily being competent with the camera (although it's certainly needed). More important is selection of the scene, getting the proper angle and exposure and seeing (and projecting to the viewer) something about that scene that most people don't see. If you can do that, you're an artist. You do it very well.
Levi was delighted with your birthday present and asked me to thank you. Although he is now a ton more mature than he was only three days ago when he was just a baby four year old, that maturity doesn't extend to a lot of spelling yet, so he figured I'd better do the writing.
Appreciate your thought, I had to take a couple of years off just to clear my head of the rancor. Now that I've returned it seems to have gotten worse.
I smiled when I saw the stream......very similar to the streams I see in my happy place, A Mac. Always pleasing to the soul to see it and yes, If you close your eyes and listen, you can hear it babblimg to you, even here.
Look around me, I can see my life before me Running rings around the way it used to be I am older now I have more than what I wanted But I wish that I had started long before I did
And there's so much time to make up everywhere you turn Time we have wasted on the way So much water moving underneath the bridge Let the water come and carry us away
Oh when you were young did you question all the answers Did you envy all the dancers who had all the nerve? Look round you know, you must go for what you wanted Look at all my friends who did and got what they deserved
So much time to make up everywhere you turn Time we have wasted on the way So much water moving underneath the bridge Let the water come and carry us away
So much love to make up everywhere you turn Love we have wasted on the way So much water moving underneath the bridge Let the water come and carry us away Let the water come and carry us away
When actual "discussion" occurs in the Discussions, I'll re-engage in them.
Honestly, I don't think it ever will again, be civil....getting worse by the day. Cool pic Mac.
AR
I know exactly how you feel. Love your picture!
Here's a joke that was on my calendar this morning:
Dad takes son to football game. Son seemed to enjoy it but asked Dad why where they fighting so much for 25 cents?
Dad asked what did he mean? The boy replied, "Everybody kept yelling get the quarterback, get the quarterback!"
I understand what you mean, too many meetings this week, late evenings, long days, trying to get caught up just to go see the oujida of the day on the front page in my spare time......and that's a waste of my time...plain and simple.....
Wait a second, not EVERYTHING on the front page is a waste of time. THIS is on the front page.
I didn't mention the FP, Buzz.
… didn't need to.
???
I was replying to what Spikegary said.
True, but it was fun to playfully vent about something besides politics.
I look at this more on the Members Creative Kind of thing, Buzz, you know the stank pile of which I refer.......
My mistake.
It difficult to beat a butterfly for beauty and serenity, well done Mac.

I am extremely grateful to those of you who came in out of the acrimonious so-called "discussions" … I will be posting more "civility" this evening.

Audible, "Sigh"...
Skirting the CoC [ph]
we all need a place to chill
It only appears to be condescension to those who cannot viably discuss serious issues.
Ditto for sarcasm …
Feel free not to visit my articles.
Skirting the CoC [ph]
I think the reasonable visitors to my article know where to find the low hanging fruit … IMPASSE.

all apologies Kavika

None required David. The comment was directed at Block.
You should go and delete that comment, Kav. It is below you and very possibly a CoC violation. The original comment was removed by Perrie.
This is the reason we can't have nice things
I will respect the author's wishes, but
will follow through elsewhere out
Added a second civil pic.

It’s Sandspring Run in Hickory Run State Park.
Past out in Boulder Field waiting for help with a broken truck

have fed my liver enough, to the point of a Gorge as well. As I've stated, know of an excellent overlook of the Lehigh Gorge, beautiful sight.
Obviously just a typo, and not necessarily all negative.
Bad typing …
THE LEHIGH RIVER …
Unless one prefers liver.
not even with onions
Your photos almost look like paintings to me.
Do others comment as such ever ?
Photos of streams cannot be anything but beautiful.
When I looked at that stream, I could almost hear it.
nah, that was the babbling Brooke, I used to date
Brooke Shields?
yea, I wish
We have a dry run at the bottom of our front yard. When we get a decent rain storm it fills up and I can hear it from the front porch. Very peaceful
it wasn't Brooke Trout either, though I sometimes make her giggle till she has accident

Thanks, David,

My distinct honor and pleasure! Happy Birthday, Levi!
Very nice, Mac. I can almost hear the sound of that stream tumbling across the rocks.
I made my comment before seeing yours. I had the same feeling about it as you.
Isn't water running in a stream one of the happiest sounds?
One of the most relaxing sounds I've ever known.
unless,
you have a sudden urge,
and absolutely no path forged towards relief
I concede that point. Then it's not a happy sound at all.
like a ringing bell to a Pavlov dog with a heavy leg
Appreciate your thought, I had to take a couple of years off just to clear my head of the rancor. Now that I've returned it seems to have gotten worse.
Nice pixs, very Zen.
I don't take my own pics, but once in a while I run across a nice one. Hope people enjoy.
Nicely composed … a perfect use of leading lines!
