TRUMP HAS ALWAYS BEEN A WINNER

TRUMP HAS ALWAYS BEEN A WINNER

I knew that from when I was a kid.  It doesn't matter how many suits you have, or how many of each kind.  Many people have no idea of the truth of the fact that TRUMP is, and has always been what wins. No matter what card you want to play, TRUMP will beat you.  You could say that TRUMP can be a BRIDGE over troubled waters. (Bridge over troubled waters - was that Simon and Garfunkle?)

From Merriam-Webster Dictionary:

Definition of TRUMP

1 a : a card of a suit any of whose cards will win over a card that is not of this suit called also trump card

b : the suit whose cards are trumps for a particular hand often used in plural

2 : a decisive overriding factor or final resource called also trump card

3 : a dependable and exemplary person

There are some members of NT who might disagree with that last definition. LOL

Well, what did you THINK I meant?

Lol, at first I did think you were talking about Trump the person, Buzz, but if you DO like Donald Trump we'll swap you Trump for Trudeau, straight up! Happy

I don't know if this will surprise you, but I'd prefer for Trump to be Prime Minister. You can have Trudeau - but then you'd better buy your prayer mat before they sell out.

Wouldn't Trump be better as the figurehead for the Triads or the Yakuza?

I really have no idea - I was really talking about the card game of Bridge.

Doesn't surprise me.  You can have Donald Rump.  Let him totally screw over Canada.

'but then you'd better buy your prayer mat before they sell out.'''

Give me a break!  Just because he honors all faiths?  Because he is not anti-Islam?  Because he is not - 'all Islams are terrorists?'

Don't look to the future - I'm not concerned about me, at my age. I'm concerned about my children and grandchildren. I'm not ignoring what's happening in Europe and Sweden.

Actually, Trump has never been a winner.  As a person and as a business man, Trump has parlayed himself into a position of dependence on other people's money.  And now, apparently, Russian money.

You're off topic. I was talking about the card game of Bridge.

the suit whose cards are trumps for a particular hand

It may have been meant to address Bridge, but that is a rather definitive description of our Trump. An empty suit whose ideologies are for a particular moment.

Nice twist Buzz

How about Spades?  I love Spades.  I haven't tried Bridge yet.  Trying to go Nil when I have an ace of another suit is fun!

My article isn't about Donald Trump, it's about TRUMP as it applies to the card game of bridge. You're the one twisting the meaning to be political.

The twist was a compliment (you really didn't think the Trump wouldn't be dragged in now did you?) and I found the description ironic. But if you like you may deal me out.

Didn't realize it but I see now that it WAS a compliment, and for that I thank you.  Actually I just did this to prove that mentioning the word TRUMP in the title on the front page was bound to get comments posted, because my Photo Essays sure as hell don't.

But then how do you explain this in the Merriam-Webster definition?: "3 : a dependable and exemplary person"

The name is like raw meat these days :) I'll attempt to comment more on the photo essays, they are a nice respite from the madness.

I've started spending a little time here, and miss the NV photo group.  I have no clue about how to find things in here yet, and I'm too busy and yet lazy at the same time to figure it out.  So .. is there a photo group, how do I find it if there is?
