Forget crocodiles and snakes, the real animal threat in Australia is wild pigs. At least if youre camping.
At a campground in Western Australia over the weekend, a feral pig guzzled down 18 beers that had been left out improperly secured. And just like anyone 18 beers in at a rural dive bar, the pig got big-headed and decided to start a fight with a cow, resulting in the cow chasing the pig around a car.
In the middle of the night these people camping opposite us heard a noise, so they got their torch out and shone it on the pig and there he was, scrunching away at their cans, said a visitor.
The pig was later reported sleeping his hangover (and shame of trying to take down a cow?) off under a tree.
While feral pigs are considered an invasive pest in many parts of the country, its also a reminder to keep food and drink secured when camping. Just imagine if it had been a drunk kangaroo . http://gadling.com/2013/09/10/australian-pig-steals-beer/
That must have been quite a sight to see....
Funny one Nona! A few years ago, at a camp ground near me a black bear broke into a campers truckand drank 18 cans of Budweiser. He passed on the 6 pack of Schmitts.
Afterward he climbed a tall fir tree and spent 24 hrs. sleeping it off. When Fish and Game arrived, they recommended he be allowed to sleep it off. Upon awakening the bear climbed down and staggered off into the woods. Moral to the story: If you are going to be a local resident, at least drink like a local!!!
Now these alcoholic wild animals are going to get very upset when there are campers nearby and there is no beer left out for them!!!!
lol He doesn't look real big, so, he must have really ben hanging the next morning....
LOL, good story Nona. He was a little feral pig, they get a hell of a lot bigger than his little guy was. I would hate to see a 300 feral, blitzed out of his/her mind decide to take on a cow.
''udders everywhere''...
K...
Are those feral pigs any good on the BBQ? Off topic, possibly, but this 'inquiring mind' is curious.
Not bad at all dd.
''udders everywhere'' LOL Wiki Many Steps would take care of it!!!
Thanks K.

Uppy.......THAT'S PERFECT!
DRUNK PIGS UNTIE!!!
Actually my cat Budweiser, loved beer (hence his name). No we didn't give it to him, but if there was a party and someone left a glass unattended, he would help himself.... over and over.
He also like Twinkies. One weekend when we were away, he opened the cupboard, ripped open a brand new box of them and ate a dozen. No joke.
I think he might have been in a frat in a past life.
LOL, un tie or unite....
I wonder if there is an AA for Pigs..... cute video)
Sounds like Budweiser was a real Party Animal!!!
If that pig drank all my beer I would be having bacon for breakfast.
un tie or unite.... Oink out loud!!!
He was! He also modeled. One day I should post his photo. 28 lbs of love!
LMAO!
Hey, if you were going to end up as bacon, wouldn't you drink..... heavily!
96,
Read my comment above.
Oh ...please do!!!!
VERY HEAVILY!!
It very well could be! (but, I don't think so)
Can't say I blame the piggy; I can see myself doing the same thing if I was stuck in themiddle of the outback and stumbled across a buncha beer...who knows what might transpire after dehydration then drunkenness, then deeper dehydration...
;^)
How nice, an unattended beer.
Larry.... Just the visual of a drunken pig cracks me up!!
Kav......OINK OUT LOUD !!!
Exactly! Who could resist?
