Heaven and Earth … Digitally Combined

In the DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY ERA, multiple images that, in the past, were at best, difficult to combine into one viable, new image … are now less resistant …

… albeit not a "walk in the park"!

Software like Photoshop … generically, one of a growing number of "IMAGE-EDITING" applications … offers many options for creatively re-combining multiple photographs … with the caveat that one must first be adept at working with such software.

And that realistically is manifested in an on-going learning curve.

Rules-of-thumb for anyone venturing into image-editing …

• Start with good original photos … no software will transform bad pictures into good ones

• Don't be discouraged by the amount of "overkill" in these applications … experiment with one feature at-a-time and start by TESTING ITS EXTREMES … and then, as you apply them in given images, APPLY THEM INCREMENTALLY; most beginners go overboard and their edited images generally appear OVER-EDITED.

Enough words … here are some of my images that combine HEAVEN AND EARTH … digitally, of course.

Both are very beautiful ! There's green leaves in the foreground of the top pic. Is that intentional ?

The green is a lens flare caused by refracted light … in this case, it's a flare I added digitally for "spiritual" effect.

Sometimes words fail us when it comes to your photos.  We tend to be awe struck.

I "walk in a park" most days, but the editing software I use does not allow for such creativity.  However, I do enjoy seeing yours, A.Mac.  Both of those photos are outstanding.

Both photos are outstanding, but I favor the second one.

I like Number 1 the best (thought I heard Don Mclean in the background).  Number 2 is a little too much like.....fireworks?  I'm not sure I want to jump intot he world of photo editing.  I like to see the true beauty of things when I take a picture.  Just not for me I guess!
