The GOP officially went insane when the TEAparty was created in 2009. It had not been a pragmatic conservative party since before Nixon but the creation of the TEAparty by the Kochs with the help of Citizens United, sent it over the edge of any form of being rational.  Trump would not have been elected if it wasn't for the TEAparty. The GOP and even paleoconservative Pat Buchanan were not in agreement because of his extremism, but Buchannan looks like Lincoln compared to the political troll Donald Trump.

I love it. Yes the tea party was instrumental in the phenomenal success of the party and driving the scum sucking leech liberals back under the rocks they slithered out from.

What are the legislative successes of the tea party that benefited the majority of the American people? The TEAparty governors (Brownback, Walker, Pence, Snyder, Kasich, and LePage) are cratering state economies with their tax cuts and corporate handouts.

driving the scum sucking leech liberals back under the rocks they slithered out from.

Why should anyone have any sort of respect for this childish response?

Better question: Which came first, the corrupted DNC or Crooked Hillary?

The GOP or the TEAbags haven't been able to prove that sHillary Clinton did so much as ignored a parking ticket, but feel free to keep trying and making a fool out of themselves. As much as I hate what the DNC did to Bernie the political parties can run the primaries as they see fit. There is no constitutional requirement for them to even have a primary to choose candidates.

Maybe you can dig up Whitewater to look for the Benghazi hard drive that might have nude pictures of Obama with the Muslim Brotherhood. That nonsense worked out so well for Darrell Issa.

Hillary WAS proven to be guilty of mishandling of confidential info. All you have to do is listen to Comeys announcement at the end of the investigation and ignore the part about "no reasonable prosecutor"- which he had no business to even give an opinion on.

Of course, the FBI has a say in that situation. They are the chief investigation body for US crimes.

The entire investigation was a partisan dog and pony show and most people saw through it.   Benghazi was the very same.  Darrell Issa wouldn't be leaving Congress if it wasn't.

"no reasonable prosecutor"-

What he really meant was he could not find a prosecutor that wanted to end up like Seth Rich

Liberals have completed their long march to control American culture. they've controlled education, the media and all aspects of popular culture, immersing  generations of American kids in their value system.

As professor Hayward wrote:

"Trump was only possible in 2016 because of the decay of our culture that liberalism has excused for 50 years, when liberalism hasn’t in fact caused the ruin of public propriety on purpose. It was only 30 years ago that an extra-marital affair scuttled Gary Hart’s presidential candidacy overnight. But with liberals mounting the barricades on behalf of Bill Clinton, coming up with the specious “one-grope rule,” and arguing openly that “character doesn’t matter” and that we should focus on policy results only, they have no standing now to complain that Trump is crude or “boorish... Trump wouldn’t have been possible without the cultural degradation and political correctness of contemporary liberalism.

He is, as I’ve been saying from the beginning, the president liberals deserve."

liberals have no one to blame but themselves for making trump a viable president.

Is that why 80 million people own over 300 million weapons ?

If Liberals control the media then how does Fox News still exist?

Americans lag behind the world in education because of conservative despite to teach lies instead of facts.  The conservative attempt to control education is charter schools that are a sham. Kansas and Oklahoma were forced to cut the school week to 4 days because of GOP underfunding. John Kasich's embrace of for-profit charter schools are billion dollars failure for all to see.  Scott Walker cut state funding to Wisconsin public colleges and what were great schools are now a shell of what they used to be.

Conservatives want to turn the clocks back to the 1950s or the gilded age and blame their failures on everyone else.

Pre-internet, it was far easier for political leaders to promote their base in a more mainstream way.  Maybe it has just been a false projection and citizens were always a bit unpredictable and unorthodox.

I'm in denial so I'm sticking with what helps me get through the day which is, I don't think this is the "true" republican party.

The Republican party went crazy first, definitely.  They have been nothing but a gang of corporate thugs since Reagan, then they went completely stark raving mad when Obama was elected.

Can't blame Trump for this current state of the GOP.  If it weren't for the bible beating, fetus worshipping, logic deniers in the GOP, the Trump would have never got a toehold.
