 A DISCLAIMER … and … Some RESTORED, 100+ Year-Old Photographs

Still Stayin' Away from the FP …

Until certain on-going issues are resolved … or … until enough time passes without resolve …

This is where you can find me … in the picture section; I will resist the on-going POLITICAL HOT TOPICS … as they have all been "discussed" and generally lead to personal attacks, flagging (of dissenting opinions) … and, suffice to say, we all pretty much agree on the topics that have dominated the FP for the past year.

So there can be no question where I stand on THE BIG ISSUE … the following points are those I was first to raise on NT … and continue to deem them the probable interim and ultimate outcomes in our near, and not too distant future:

• Obstruction of Justice indictments

• Conspiracy indictments

• "Consciousness of Guilt" manifestations

• Proactive Strategies of dissent such as …

√ Economic Boycotts

√ Strikes

√ Large, Peaceful Protests

… and …

• Impeachment, Dismissal, Resignation-in-Shame

______________________________________________________________

Most on the board know my positions, and, I know theirs; I am "on the record" with the items above with no equivocation. In time, one way or another, we will know the outcomes (or the lack thereof).

I'm not here to "discuss," "debate," "argue," or "deride."

ENJOY THE PICTURES

In the past several years, I have restored and created digital files and prints from 100+ year-old Magic Lantern slides. Of the literally hundreds I have restored, I am now RESTORING-MANY-OF-THE-ALREADY-RESTORED photos with each iteration cleaner and better than the one previously.

I have added captions below certain images to enhance their marketability.

Stayin' productive, off-the-streets and tyin' flies.

I have an enviable life, my friends.

NOTE: The original photos are black and white slides; many I have converted to sepia tone, and recently, went to the green tinting.

If you were to take my picture, it would already be green.

I've seen some great pictures of the original 'Flight of Five' Locks in Lockport, N.Y. Just a fascinating engineering feat......I like the picture of Amsterdam-I've been there and was amazed at the amount of human blood, sweat and tears to build on the water like that and make the streets canals.

Great photos Mac...The Amsterdam photo looks like it does today. We had offices in Amsterdam and Rotterdamn and the canals haven't changed much over the past decade.

Should read ''over the last century''...

Far out Mac.  Back to my personal favorites.  As restorations they're great; as history even  better.  History makes politics take a backseat.  Whoever took these was an artist, your restorations make them even better.  If you find some that are unlabeled and need analysis, definitely let me know. I've really missed working with them.

Of the roughly 1000 Magic Lantern slides I have …

• Some have numbers and captions (both) on the paper mattes sandwiched between the two pieces of glass … these obviously are the easiest to identify (although some of the captions are in German and handwritten)

• Some have just captions

• Some have just numbers (with these, I try to find close numbers on slides with both numbers and captions, hoping that same subjects might have been photographed in successive sequence)

• Some have neither numbers nor captions

Maybe when I have a few days of down time, I'll pull the ones I haven't identified, and post them hoping for positive I.D.s or, reasonable generic captions from you and others.

You can lay them out there, it's worth a shot, but don't bet on anything. Should be interesting.

At some point, I will post pictures of the slides to give everyone an idea of what the original items look like; then I will create digital files and post those and see how it goes.

@ A.Mac

I really don't have a lot to say on the topics you listed as being presently ignored by you, mostly because of not being an American and not knowing enough about the issues.  Many of the issues I post are totally ignored, most likely because members don't know enough about them, or just don't give a damn about them.  However, we both have a love of photography and a definite interest in historical photos -  I never tire of looking at them.

Consider my "Stayin' Away" statement as the equivalent of "The Prosecution Rests".

The FP is no longer a place for respectful dialogue, debate and discussion; making one's case by way of laying out what he believes/knows to consist of realities and demonstrable facts should, ideally, be met with either …

• I concur, or …

• I disagree and here are my reasons, or …

• Thank you; I did not know that.

But what we now get are ad hominem/shoot-the-messenger/insults, and, a ritual among particular members to FLAG virtually anything with which they disagree.

I realize that American Politics is not your domain, Buzz, but particularly after a specific event yesterday … I am entirely confident of the veracity of my opening atop this article.
